Half American, half Japanese, expert in both worlds but at home in neither, John Rain is the best killer money can buy. You tell him who. You tell him where. He doesn't care about why… Until he gets involved with Midori Kawamura, a beautiful jazz pianist—and the daughter of his latest kill.

What disappointed you about A Clean Kill in Tokyo?

This is not a new book. All the books narrated by the Author have been published under a different title prior to this "New John Rain series". I already had the books in my library and thought I was downloading a new book...NOT NEW!

What was most disappointing about Barry Eisler’s story?

Previously published under a different title.

Would you be willing to try another one of Barry Eisler’s performances?

Not unless I could be assured it's a new book...not just a reprint under a different title

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Definitely disappointed. The publishers of these newly titled John Rain books have joined the ranks of Beau LaAmour and trying to sell old titles as new stories.

    Any additional comments?

I strongly dislike being deceived by the presentation that I'm buying a new storyline simply by changing the title of a formerly published title.

For Mack McKinley and his team of GhostWalker killing machines, urban warfare is an art. But despite a hard-won knowledge of the San Francisco streets, Mack knows from experience that too many things can still go wrong. Danger was just another part of the game--and now he's come face-to-face with a woman who can play just as tough. She's Jaimie, a woman with a sapphire stare so potent it can destroy a man. Years ago she and Mack had a history--volatile, erotic, and electric.

Would you try another book from Christine Feehan and/or Tom Stechschulte?

I don't think so. The hero of this book can't seem to get through an hour without sniffing after his woman... either that or pining after her for most of the chapter. Good grief! What happened to a good story without the graphic description of sex? Besides that, Ms Feehan indicates that men have no control over their sexual drive. What's up with that?

Would you ever listen to anything by Christine Feehan again?

Not if it depends on such detailed description of sexual acts. Totally unnecessary for the story-line.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Something of a good story, but I fast forwarded through more than half of the narration because I got tired of the description of the hero's attraction to a woman.

Hunter Krause knows better than anyone that running a ranch is hard work. Wranglers are hard to find, and even with Hunter’s foreman and entire extended family on hand, the busy ranch is constantly short-handed. So when horses go missing, Hunter’s brother-in-law hires a man Hunter would never have considered: Grant Jarreau, a man Hunter can't forgive for leaving Hunter’s best friend Gable after an incapacitating accident.

Would you try another book from Zahra Owens and/or Paul Morey?

If I had known this book was couched around gay "ranchers", I'd never have bought it. I'll NEVER buy another Zahra Owens book and I want this book returned

Has Earth and Sky turned you off from other books in this genre?

    Absolutely!!!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I didn't listen to enough of the book to form an opinion of the performance.

    Any additional comments?

I wish there was a method of identifying Gay books prior to purchase.

Former Marine gunnery sergeant Torin Kerr is attempting to build a new life with salvage operator Craig Ryder on his ship, the Promise. Turns out civilian life is a lot rougher than she'd imagined - salvage operators are losing both cargo and lives to pirates. And when they attack the Promise, Craig is taken prisoner and Torin is left for dead. When Torin finds out why the pirates needed Craig, she calls in the Marines to get him back....

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I've read (listened to) three other "Confederation Novels" written by Tanya Huff, so I was prepared for some profane language in the marine dialogue. In this book Ms Huff has lowered the dialogue to something distracting & even stupid. The story is camoflaged in the use of the "F" word sometimes as many as five times in a single sentence...not necessary and certainly does not contribute to the story. I recommend against anyone buying this book.

Has The Truth of Valor turned you off from other books in this genre?

Certainly turned off from other books by this author!

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment and then disgust.

    Any additional comments?

    Disgusting dialogue.

One of the best-selling Western writers of all time, William W. Johnstone established three of the genre’s most enduring characters in Matt and Smoke Jensen and their stalwart friend Preacher. In Helltown Massacre,, the family Jensen lands squarely in the crosshairs of a railroad tycoon trying to run the iron horse through Paiute territory. To protect the land, three honest men will face half a hundred hired guns—impossible odds, unless you’re a Jensen.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Make the advertized book the one that was downloaded, not the same story with a different title which I had already downloaded.

Has The Family Jensen turned you off from other books in this genre?

Only the sense that I'm being deceived in the purchase of audiobooks.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jack Garrett?

I don't think this problem is the narrator's fault.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment

    Any additional comments?

This is not a problem with the book or the author. It is a problem with marketing or data base cross-over.
