Each book I've read by Dominique Lapierre, leaves me 'in awe'! Beyond Love, magnificent also. The City of Joy, I just could not stop listening to it. I have purchased the book for two friends, whom I know will find this book so beautiful and will keep it close to their hearts.
    Thank You

Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

Awonderful magical and majestic book. Written with such conviction it feels 'true'. One goes through the whole gamut of feelings, awe, sadness, happiness, disbelief. Written so well and told beautifully by the author, that, one feels they are actually in Afghanistan and kabul. Walking with them as children, being there, wanting to give Boba a good shake.
This story, takes a person,to the limit of their feelings, I'll listen to it over and over. I have done several times before and hear something else new and 'feel' even more and shed tears as well as smiles. Mr. Hosseini, I Thank You and Applaud you, please write more magnificent books.
