A village on the Devil's Moor: a place untouched by time and shrouded in superstition. There is the grand manor house whose occupants despise the villagers, the small pub whose regulars talk of revenants, the old mill no one dares to mention. This is where four young friends come of age-in an atmosphere thick with fear and suspicion. Their innocent games soon bring them face-to-face with the village's darkest secrets in this eerily dispassionate, astonishingly assured novel,

Words are like a road map to reporter Camille Preaker's troubled past. Fresh from a brief stay at a psychiatric hospital, Camille's first assignment from the second-rate daily paper where she works brings her reluctantly back to her hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls.

Where does Sharp Objects rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Right in the middle. The Narration was excellent.

What other book might you compare Sharp Objects to and why?

I cannot think of a book to compare it to other than books by Gillian Flynn.

Which character – as performed by Ann Marie Lee – was your favorite?

    The younger sister. Amma

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was sad book. Still find it a little hard to believe that she could carve words all over her body like that on her own. It kind of distracted me from the story.

    Any additional comments?

It was neatly tied up in the end. I guess I was looking for more of a twist or maybe not a real ending but one we could decide on our own.
