To begin with the reason I got this book was because Justine O’Keef narrated it. She is one of my favorite narrators and the story sounded interesting, so I got it. I love Justine’s male voices. For some reason it just thrills my ears, especially in the sexual context.
So we have Emma who wants to have a baby and her friend, Connor, who’s gay, backs out on being her sperm donor. Aidan, a womanizer, whom happens to work in the same company with Emma, sees his chance and makes his proposition.
It was just so cute how Emma gets under Aiden’s skin. It’s supposed to be sex to make a baby but you can see how Emma and Aidan are becoming entwined into each other’s life. Emma meets Aiden’s family and his dog. He’s not what she expected. She’s much more than he expected. I really can’t say too much more because I’m going to give out too many spoilers. I do have to say the first time they have sex after Emma finds out she is pregnant is so cute.
Sometimes a book flows for me, sometimes not. This one did! I love romantic fiction due to the fact I don’t have to over think things and just go with the flow of the book. After all it is fiction and that’s my whole purpose of listening to it. I love to escape to a fantasy world that is totally unrealistic. This one was written and performed well enough for me to go there and enjoy the ride.
I did realize before I got this one that there is another one in this series that comes out in a few weeks and I will be getting that one to finish up this story. It was worth my credit and I enjoyed it so much I listened to it in one sitting.
I have to admit this series has taken me. From the first book, to this one, I'm useless. I pay no attention to the outside world. This world has captivated me. Now I must wait until the next book. It's an amazing series and well worth you credit's; time; money; family/friend irritation due to your lack of inattention.... need I say more?
This is one of those books that a 5 star rating won't do it justice. Everything about it is just perfect. You just want to lock yourself away and listen from beginning to end and then get the next book. That's excatly what I did.Well worth that credit. Love it!!
This one has all the ingredients that I want. The plot is great. The sex is intense. It's got good guys and bad guys. The narration is very good. I'm well pleased. I'm more than happy I used my credit on this one. Not much more to say than that. I'll be keeping my eye on this author.
I have to admit this one has some new ideas. I can also agree that it's got some pretty hot scenes. I just don't know if I'd want to use a credit on this one. A sale would be a better deal. In my reviews I don't think it's necessary to tell about the story. I'm sure you have read the summary. I do tell if I "get into" a story and if I enjoy it. I enjoyed the sexual situation somewhat in this book but it didn't really come through emotionally. The books I love are emotionally and sexually charged. Sadly this one didn't make it for me.
I never know to go with another book from a series I'm listening to or taking a chance on someting new. So I took a chance and I'm so glad I did. This one has great characters and narration. I find myself grinning in places and also loving the steamy sexy parts. This is a great listen. I will be looking for more books from this author and hopefully more from other characters in this book.
I got hooked from the first book and it look's like I'll be getting book 3 when it comes out. I want to know what finally happens. The sexy parts are pretty good but I have to admit it's the wanting to know how the story goes that has my interest. I've really enjoyed the female character in this series. She really has our hot alfa guy tied up in knots. The secondary stories are interesting too. Plus this has the murderer that hasn't been brought to justice. So yes to this book, and waiting on book 3.
I loved the first book in this series; skipped the second; based on reviews, I got this one. It holds your interest. I do wish the sexual chemistry was more intense between the characters. That's just a personal preference. The story is good though and I don't regret using my credit for this book. I do love SY's narration skills. Mmmmm.
Sorry the narrator didn't work for me. The story idea was good but for me it didn't deliver either. I had to re-start the book 4 times to try to get into it. I did listen to the entire book to give a fair review but this one wasn't the kind of book that makes me happy. Save your credit for something else.
It's an okay story. For me personally it just lacked that "pull" that takes me into a story and makes me want more. I'd say this would be a great sale book. I'd rather use my credit on a better selection.
Got this one on sale. It was a enjoyable steamy listen (this is book 2) and if book 3 shows up on audible I'd be tempted to finish up the story.
