This is an excellent book. A must read for everyone. Don't think this is just about how to say NO firmly. It is much more than that.
This book is a must listen. No matter what are looking for, this will help. If you are looking for a good fable, it is that. If you are looking for a spiritual book, it is that. Just relax and listen. Don't over analyze. Before you even realize, it would have made a difference.
I had very high expectations from this book. I had hoped to learn some useful techniques in improving my technique of posing questions. I was disappointed to find out that 90% of book only talks about the importance of asking questions. It would not be an overstatement that this 6 hour book can be summarized in less than 20 minutes.
This is a good read to understand Kotter's change theory with the help of a fable.
The best thing about the book is that it is not boring. It is written like a fable which makes it easier to follow. I however got the feeling that the story stressed on two dysfunctions (trust and conflict) more than the others. Don't expect to know how to build effective teams after reading this book but view this as more of a thought starter.
Not sure why is this book a best seller. I couldn't afford to waste any more time after listening to it for 45 minutes. The author does not describe anyhting new. Moreover I didn't get a single idea which could be put to use.
"Made to Stick" is classified as a book on marketing by most websites. I think it is a mistake. This book is so simple and powerful that the ideas presented can ve used in almost any setting from home to board room. For anyone wondering "why do people not get it", this book has the answer.
