Miss Linnet Berry Thrynne is a Beauty... Naturally, she's betrothed to a Beast. Piers Yelverton, Earl of Marchant, lives in a castle in Wales where, it is rumored, his bad temper flays everyone he crosses. And rumor also has it that a wound has left the earl immune to the charms of any woman. Linnet is not just any woman. She is more than merely lovely: her wit and charm brought a prince to his knees. She estimates the earl will fall madly in love - in just two weeks. She is more than merely lovely: her wit and charm brought a prince to his knees.

Where does When Beauty Tamed the Beast rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one I will listen to again.. It was so amusing and the story itself was a good one with strong lead characters.

What did you like best about this story?

The humor & the self awareness of the characters. Piers and Linnet know exactly who they are & what they want.

What does Susan Duerden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The different voices. I was reading along with the audiobook at times and realized I missed Gavan's childish voice and Linnet's. They (different voices) add so much to the story. Susan Duerden can make the characters come to life with her narration.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book definitely made me laugh and yes, I felt sadness and horror when Linnet was ill.

    Any additional comments?

I don't usually read Regency type romances, but thought I'd try this because of a review & the sale price and I am so glad I did. Very entertaining and I have already ordered another of her books.

Byron the Carpathian has traveled the globe for centuries, desperately seeking a mortal woman for his lifemate. And then, in an Italian villa, he hears the threads of enchanting music.

If you could sum up Dark Symphony in three words, what would they be?

A good story. But the narrator made the hero sound like a pervert. It was very difficult for me to continue listening to the book. The narrator has a decent voice, but his hero's accent and gravely voice made the hero sound like someone extremely ancient NOT sexy or desirable as I am sure the author meant for him to be.

What other book might you compare Dark Symphony to and why?

I feel like this book is an extension of the Scarletti Curse.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Kevin Free?

No!! Not if he continues to make the hero sound like he is 200 years old!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    No.

    Any additional comments?

Redo the audiobook with one of the other narrators to give the hero a better image through his voice. At least make him sound younger, please!

Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry her ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her “happily ever after” begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring in a hotel fire drill but in the panic that follows, her phone is stolen. As she paces shakily around the lobby, she spots an abandoned phone in a trash can. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect! Well, perfect except that the phone’s owner, businessman Sam Roxton, doesn’t agree.

What did you love best about I've Got Your Number?

This book was so hard to put away, it is hard to say what I loved best- I guess the whole thing. This is definitely a keeper and I will read it again and again. The best book I have read in a while and I read or listen to books constantly. This was a different genre of the types of books I read and this one is definitely a wonderful change.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Poppy, of course! Her outlook on life and her love of life, although she did let people use her too much by trying to make those around her happy. And her views of public property if an item is found in the "bin". Sam comes in as a close second!

    Which scene was your favorite?

Now that is a hard question to answer because I loved them all. I suppose I could say the church scene at the ending of the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, when Sam texted all the wedding guests and she ran from the church to find him outside.

    Any additional comments?

The friend who recommended this book said it all- "I will never be able to hear this narrator and picture any other character than Poppy- she was Poppy!" Jayne Entwistle is Poppy Wyatt. She did such a great job, I can see Poppy very clearly in my mind and like my friend, any other character she reads will always be Poppy. Thank you Jayne for all the enjoyment and laughter you brought by bringing this character (an all the others too) to life.

Listeners looking for a fresh twist on vampire tales need look no further than the erotically charged Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Mary Luce is dissatisfied with her life and her job. But when she is unwittingly thrust into the vampire dominion, everything changes. Falling under the protection of the Brotherhood's strongest member, Rhage, she soon finds herself drawn to his animalistic urges.

Where does Lover Eternal, The Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 2 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very entertaining and the narrator was good. These Brotherhood books rank right up there with any of the really good vampire books I have read. I like that these vampires don't have all the stereotypical vampire traits, ie, garlic, sleeping in coffins, etc.

What did you like best about this story?

The Black Dagger Brotherhood characters. These guys are so funny with their music and dress. I also like the developing friendships between Butch and the brothers.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    Can't decide.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes.

    Any additional comments?

The pauses between the paragraphs and the chapters are much too long! I kept thinking the book was over or my MP3 player was going on the blink. Shorten any further pauses.
