The book is awesome. It picks up right after the Governor takes power, with a small group of refugees entering Woodbury.

....Medium Answer....

This book adds to the series perfectly. Following a group that finds their way to Woodbury a few weeks after The Governor took control of Woodbury. The group does not know the history in which The Governor came to rise to power, but they start to see the rot under the veneer. Eventually the group is thrown into situations far deadlier than the Walkers.

....Long Answer....

The Walking Dead series is a genre in its own. Character development is a crucial aspect to these books. The listener can empathize with at least one character. Everyone who listens or reads zombie fact/fiction books has the “I know what I would do.” quote, but what would you do if your first and typically only plan didn’t pan out as expected. You would eventually end up like characters in these books. Would you be an Alpha or a Follower? These books give an insight into how the world would be if civilization crashed and an ever eminent threat loomed over them. This installment follows a group of unsuspecting individuals that are welcomed into Woodbury where the Governor has risen to power. They know all is not as it seems, but a safe place to sleep. The entrance of this new dynamic help start in motion the events change the future of all the characters and Woodbury.

I always like the interactions between characters. The way these authors build them into people and not just "characters," and put them into real world situations.

That would be Josh, although the Governor is pretty tempting too.

Fast, Slow, and Frustrated.
Fas t- the story flew by way to fast and I really enjoy Tufo's writing.
Slow - there was not enough story progression. It was almost like a side story.
Frustrated - I found the series not too long ago and started. Luckily book five was a few months out after finishing the 4th book. I was excited, but it lacked.

He brings the characters to life and expresses the sarcasm well.

He built a universe that you wished you lived in. The freedom to do what you like without fear of death is awe inspiring. People only took one to two lifetimes for granted before settling down and planning long term. He builds the characters with dynamic and diverse backgrounds.

Yes, but it was way to many hours to do it comfortably.

I really enjoy the world Hamilton has built and expands upon. He brings the world and characters to life and makes you really regret their passing, even if they will be revived.

I enjoy listening to Ray Porter. It took me a while to distance myself from his performance in "The Joe Ledger Novels."

**Spoiler** When the old lady died. It would have been a terrifying way to go.

I would have to say this book ranks in my top fifteen books I have listened to on Audible.

It followed along with the story so far and combined the characters from Monster Hunter Alpha into the plot.

He brings the characters to life and puts the right inflection on the dialogue that may have been missed when reading.

Most of Larry's Books I want to listen to in one sitting, but I have to eat, work, sleep, and shower. His books are very enthralling.

This is a must have survival guide. It's main premise is based on the zombie apocalypse, but can be adapted to almost any situation.

It increases your awareness to the overall world around you. You cannot just live for that day, but must think ahead. When others think of an apocalypse, they think of the day after, not the months or years after.

It is not the narrator's fault about his performance, just it is hard to narrate a survival guide.

May be some spoilers. The story has great and I do mean GREAT potential, but the writer seems to be trying to force the story along. It was annoying that everyone is just so accepting of this person when all they talk about is raiders and bandits and zombies, it was too convenient. And the use of post apocalyptic terms everyone seems to use, like "Aftertime," is normally reserved for the second or third generation of the apocalypse. The narrator is great! But the narrator should be used for a younger character, not for a strong woman character as is portrayed in this book. I am trying to finish.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the way the journal entries let you keep up with time lines.

I loved the audio book. I believe this was Rachel and Kim Harrison at their best. I have listened to the whole series 7 times (itunes count says so, except this one 4 times) and am still awestruck at the characters and depth Mrs. Harrison gives them. I would recommend this whole series to any of my friends interested in the "Inderland" community.

The only problem is the narrator in this installment. Gigi Bermingham hurt my perception of Rachel by making her seem more whiny than she ought to be. Rachel is conflicted with her emotions, not 13 and whining about love and death. I constantly had to turn down the volume on my ipod, because Gigi would use a high pitched "Moooom" or "Raaaacheel." I beleive that Mrs. Bermingham is more suited for a different style of books.

I would loved to have heard the voice Marguerite Gavin would have given Biss (the gargoyle) and I am glad to hear that she will be back for the next installment and looking forward to "White Witch, Black Curse."

If Mrs. Gavin would re-read this book, I would repurchase it in no time flat.
