"Cost less than $10.00"
This book wasn't worth a credit, but it was cheap and the American accents were good for a laugh.
"BASED ON PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH AUTHOR"
BOUGHT THIS ON 2:1 SALE. BASED UPON OTHER BOOK, I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO WASTE MY TIME DOWNLOADING THIS BOOK. IN MY DEFENSE- I HAD THE FLU WHEN I BOUGHT IT AND WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR MY ACTIONS.
"UNLISTENAB LE"
RIDICULOUS- STUPID- DUMB-WASTE OF TIME- COULD NOT LISTEN- AWFUL-HORRIBLE-RUNNING OUT OF WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW DUMB THIS BOOK WAS.
"Amazing! Get this one."
This was great. It was hard to make myself stop listening. The characters are so vivid, their adventures exciting and the narration wraps it up in a perfect package. Wonderful.
"Light and lovely"
These books have the feeling of visiting with an old friend. We get to see the little ups and downs of Isabel's life, she dabbles in a puzzle of some sort, we check in with Grace, Charlie, Jaime and Kat- then we're done until our next visit over a cup of tea. Couldn't be better.
"Excellent!"
Every aspect of this book works. The basic life story is fascinating, the insight into the inner workings of the kitchen are great and his observations of society- always as an outsider- are very revealing.
"Better than the movie"
I love baseball, but even if you don't, this is a great book. It forces you to question your assumptions about what makes an organization a success.
"Surprisingly good"
I was prepared not to like this because Arnold was so mean to our girl Maria. He is a master of rationalization and makes sure he gets his licks in. But overall, this is an unbelievable true life story. Fascinating.
"Excellent"
I loved this book. It had some obvious flaws, but they didn't matter in the face of such wonderful storytelling. The narrator does a great job with the voices. Highly recommended.
"Good Job"
The narrator did a good job pacing his performance with the arc of the novel. What can anyone say about this book? The characters were my parents' age and the book gives an insight into that generation. But it also gives a picture of the necessary disillusionment that comes with maturity for any generation.
"informative"
The foundations of journalism- objectivity, balance etc are GONE. Poor Dan was thrown under the bus when the new guard took over. This book mostly deals with the days before the tyranny of the minority blogged all semblance of reason out of the news business. This shook him to his core and you can hear the bewilderment in his voice when he talks about it.
