    • By Maeve Binchy
    • Narrated By Katherine Borowitz

When two unhappy women switch homes for the summer, there are extraordinary consequences, and each learns that the other has a deep secret that can never be revealed. At the end of the summer, when the women at last meet face-to-face, they find that they have become, firmly and forever, good friends.

    "Very Enjoyable!"

This book was right up there with "The Secret Life of Bees". Extremely enjoyable and I had a hard time turning it off and was anxious to get back to it. The narrator was awesome with her Irish accent and brought Ria and all the characters to life...especially entertaining was Ria's son won't be disappointed!

  • Holiday Classics by O. Henry

    • UNABRIDGED (51 mins)
    • By O. Henry
    • Narrated By Katherine Kellgren, Oliver Wyman, Jonathan Davis

When it comes to the holidays, no story brings us back to the true spirit of giving like O. Henry’s classic "The Gift of the Magi". So this year we’ve asked some of your favorite Audible narrators—Audie Award winners Katherine Kellgren, Oliver Wyman, and Jonathan Davis—to bring to life this timeless tale, plus two more of O. Henry’s gems: "The Cop and the Anthem" and "The Last Leaf", in this holiday collection.

What a wonderful and unexpected gift! One that I will enjoy for years to come. Thank you Audible for remembering your customers and rewarding our loyalty!

  • Breathing Room

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 39 mins)
    • By Susan Elizabeth Phillips
    • Narrated By Kate Fleming
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Sometimes in life you need a little breathing room, especially when your life has just fallen apart. Dr. Isabel Favor, America's diva of self help, knows this all too well. She's lost her fiancé to an earth mother, her accountant has absconded with her money, and her self-help empire is in shambles. She flees the country to Tuscany, waiting for life to settle down, but the biggest disaster lies just ahead. On one unforgettable night, she's about to meet Lorenzo Gage, Hollywood's favorite villain.

    Brenda says: "An enjoyable read."

This is the first one of Susan Elizabeth Phillips novels that I have not enjoyed. The story was disjointed and the characters were unlikable. If you want to start reading her novels "DEFINITELY" don't start with this one. All the rest of her novels are more then worth the time and book credits. An excellent choice would be "Dream a Little Dream". Very..........Heart warming!

  • The Alibi Man

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 43 mins)
    • By Tami Hoag
    • Narrated By Beth McDonald
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

The Palm Beach elite go to great lengths to protect their own - and their own no longer includes Elena Estes. Once upon a time a child of wealth and privilege, Elena turned her back on that life and chose the life of an undercover cop, with the hunt for justice her personal passion. Then a tragic, haunting mistake ended her career. Now Elena exists on the fringes of her old life. But a shocking event is about to draw her back into the painful vortex she's fought so hard to leave behind.

Sandra L. Personette says: "Ruined by Narrator"
    "Hoag Needed a Different Narrator"

As much as I enjoy Hoags novels this one fell flat because of the narration. The narrators attempt at the "Russian" accents was nothing short of horrible and ruined the listening experience. I even gave some thought to quiting the book but hung in there for the duration. The narration makes all the difference in the might consider buying the book instead of downloading it. As for the novel itself it would have scored much higher with a different narrator.

  • The Mephisto Club: A Rizzoli & Isles Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By Tess Gerritsen
    • Narrated By Kathe Mazur
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

PECCAVI. The Latin word is scrawled in blood at the scene of a young woman's brutal murder: I HAVE SINNED. It's a chilling Christmas greeting for Boston medical examiner Maura Isles and Detective Jane Rizzoli, who swiftly link the victim to controversial celebrity psychiatrist Joyce O'Donnell, Jane's professional nemesis and member of a sinister cabal called the Mephisto Club.

    Ramona says: "Must Read"
    "Gerritsen's Best Yet!"

This book hooked me from the first sentence and kept me there until the end. Fast paced, suspenceful, and I didn't want it to end. I'm sure there must be a sequel in the near future because this story must go on!

  • Second Glance

    • UNABRIDGED (17 hrs and 44 mins)
    • By Jodi Picoult
    • Narrated By George Guidall
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

An intricate tale of love, haunting memories, and renewal, Second Glance begins in current-day Vermont, where an old man puts a piece of land up for sale and unintentionally raises protest from the local Abenaki Indian tribe, who insist it's a burial ground. When odd, supernatural events plague the town of Comtosook, a ghost hunter is hired by the developer to help convince the residents that there's nothing spiritual about the property.

Ella says: "Not up to par"
    "You Can't Go Wrong!"

I throughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. Since finishing it I have found myself reflecting back on the story, several times, and remarked to myself how much I loved the story. Jodi Picoult is a master at weaving an intricate story. You have to stay on your toes and pay close attention to the many characters that are in the book but it all comes together in the end.

  • White Sister: A Shane Scully Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 8 mins)
    • By Stephen J. Cannell
    • Narrated By Scott Brick
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Leaving L.A.'s Parker Center, Shane Scully and his wife, Alexa, agree to meet at home in one hour. Shane gets there; Alexa doesn't. In the middle of the night, he's called to a crime scene on Mulholland Drive: The African-American victim, who appears to be a Crip gangbanger, has been executed gangland style. Shockingly, the body is in Alexa's car and her gun is found nearby. But Alexa is missing.

    Lisa says: "Sad it's over"
    "Not Cannell's Best"

Huge disappointment compared to the other Shane Scully books. I expected more from Stephen Cannell. I used a credit, and bought this book, because of the previous Shane Scully novels but won't make that mistake again. With the next book in the series I'll wait a few months until some of the reviews roll in and then will decide if his book is worth it. This book is so "out there" it became laughable and it was an insult to my intelligence. The only good thing about the book was Scott Brick's narration.......he could read the phone book and make it sound interesting!

  • Water for Elephants

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 26 mins)
    • By Sara Gruen
    • Narrated By David LeDoux, John Randolph Jones
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

    Kindle Customer says: "Great Narration!!"
    "Reviewers Are Right!"

I bought this book, because of the reviews, and I wasn't disappointed! I really can't add much other then to say that it'll make you laugh, cry and reward you with an outstanding ending!!

  • Plain Truth

    • UNABRIDGED (16 hrs and 45 mins)
    • By Jodi Picoult
    • Narrated By Christina Moore, Suzanne Toren
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

The discovery of a dead infant in an Amish barn shakes Lancaster County to its core. But the police investigation leads to a more shocking disclosure: circumstantial evidence suggests that 18-year-old Katie Fisher, an unmarried Amish woman believed to be the newborn's mother, took the child's life.

    Susan says: "Plain good!"
    "Great Book!"

Another great book from Jodi Picoult. I was especially pleased to learn about the Amish religion and traditions which made the book even more interesting to listen to. I put 2+2 together and figured out the end about 2/3rd's of the way through. The narration was so-so....would have been a better listen had they used a man for the male voices. I still recommend this won't be disappointed.

  • Ricochet

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 35 mins)
    • By Sandra Brown
    • Narrated By Dennis Boutsikaris

New York Times best-selling author Sandra Brown is back with a spine-tingling story of murder and betrayal, and a homicide detective's struggle with his own rules of conduct. When Detective Sergeant Duncan Hatcher is summoned to the home of Judge Cato Laird in the middle of the night to investigate a fatal shooting, he knows that discretion and kid-glove treatment are the key to staying in the judge's good graces and keeping his job.

Joey Rae says: "Disappointing At Best"
    "Disappointing At Best"

I can't believe this book was actually written by the same Sandra Brown that I have enjoyed for many years. I have listened to most of her novels but this one is a "bust". Her main character, disguised as a Detective Sargeant, is so utterly lacking in skills as a law enforcement officer that it was laughable. The rest of the charactors are equally frustrating, stupid, and unbelieveable. I know that fiction is fiction but this was ridiculously presented as a romantic/thriller/mystery, etc. and came off looking like a quickie novel with very little thought put into it. I actually gave some thought to abandoning this book half way through but continued on hoping it would redeem itself......didn't happen. Take a pass on this one and I'm sorry I didn't.

  • The Faithful Spy

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 4 mins)
    • By Alex Berenson
    • Narrated By Robertson Dean
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

John Wells is the only American CIA agent ever to penetrate al Qaeda. Since before the attacks in 2001, Wells has been hiding in the mountains of Pakistan, biding his time, building his cover.

    Margaret says: "Faithful Spy"
    "So Real it's Scary!"

I was fully cognizant, when I purchased this audio book, that it was a work of fiction but it was so real it was scary. Can't help but feel that this is going on in the world as I type. Makes me more aware of the political tug-of-war that goes on between the CIA & FBI and the "no sharing information" rule.
