    What did you love best about A Time to Kill?

    The story is real, or so it seemed. Nothing really seemed far-fetched, although there were some extraordinary happenings. But it was an extraordinary story.


    What did you like best about this story?

    Small town. The showing that different races can, and do, get along and go to bat for one another.


    Have you listened to any of Alexander Adams’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    Have not heard this reader. But I really enjoyed the way he changed his voice for so many characters. His voices for the judge and for Harry Rex were most interesting, and actually funny.

    Loved this book. I thought it was my first Grisham, but I was reminded that I had read A Painted House and The Litigators. I guess I've joined the Grisham Lovers Club.

    Would you listen to The Grapes of Wrath again? Why?

    Possibly, but doubtful. I tend to listen to books only once, no matter how great I thought it was. There is simply a lack of suspense during the second read.

    Hmmm...Difficult question. I liked the preacher's

    No, I don't think so.


    Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Few books or movies will make me laugh or cry. I did have a few guttural reactions, however. The very last scene was a surprise, but 49% bitter, and 51% sweet.


    Any additional comments?

    One of the great, interesting classics, written about a time in America's history that I really learned little about in school. Most of my generation, including me, don't understand what this lifestyle is like. I felt as if I were riding in the truck and camping on the roadside with them.

    What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    Better plot. Or at least having one.


    Has The Great Gatsby turned you off from other books in this genre?

    Not completely. I hope that this is just a personal dislike, and not a broad dislike of fiction in this genre.


    What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

    The reader was about the only thing that kept me interested. He might deserve a 4 star rating, but it is difficult for me to arrive at 4 stars in a book that I did not enjoy.

    I cannot understand why this is considered a classic.
