"Excellent read!"
I loved this book and found myself randomly stopping the narration to contemplate the ideologies and spiritual concepts presented therein. This is a lovely story that encourages us to view the world with a different set of eyes and openness to the less obvious aspects of our existence in the universe. If you are a Paulo Coelho fan, you don't want to miss this one.
"Good story, but..."
I listened to this book in audio and enjoyed the story, but was disappointed with the narration. Enough so that I went with hardcopy editions of the next two books in the series. I found it distracting when the narrator switched to a comedic falsetto for the women's voices and I'm not sure where he came up with the accents he chose for certain characters. Another excellent story from Nora Roberts, but I recommend enjoying it in the paperback version.
"Don't miss this one!"
Neil Gaiman's books are always a delight, but you absolutely have to experience this one in audio. Lenny Henry is a delighful narrator with a gift for seamlessly switching voices from one character to another. He breathes life into each eccentric character in way that makes you feel you know (or makes you wish you knew) this quirky assortment of unlikely folks. The book is rich with dark humor and literally had me laughing out loud on a regular basis. I felt as though I'd just said goodbye to a good friend when the book ended.
