What made the experience of listening to Speaks the Nightbird the most enjoyable?

Edoardo Ballerini's narration is perfect. The story hooked me from the start. I was delighted to see there are more books in the series!

Have you listened to any of Edoardo Ballerini’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I will listen to Edoardo even if he was narrating the phone book.

Nicola Marter was born with a gift. When she touches an object, she sometimes glimpses those who have owned it before. When a woman arrives with a small wooden carving at the gallery Nicola works at, she can see the object’s history and knows that it was named after the Firebird - the mythical creature from an old Russian fable. Compelled to know more, Nicola follows a young girl named Anna who leads her into the past on a quest through the glittering backdrops of the Jacobites and Russian courts, unearthing a tale of love, courage, and redemption.

I had high hopes for this book since I have enjoyed several other books by this author. The Firebird was boring. Should have listened to other reviewer's comments on the narration; it was annoying. I was interested to see how this book ended but wasn't impressed or surprised when I reached the end.

    No

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Any additional comments?

This is a seriously boring, poorly written, predictable story. I'm surprised at all the positive reviews.
