    • UNABRIDGED (41 hrs and 55 mins)
    • By Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson
    • Narrated By Michael Kramer, Kate Reading
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Since 1990, when Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time® burst on the world with its first book, The Eye of the World, listeners have been anticipating the final scenes of this extraordinary saga, which has sold over 40 million copies in over 32 languages. When Robert Jordan died in 2007, all feared that these concluding scenes would never be written. But working from notes and partials left by Jordan, established fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson stepped in to complete the masterwork.

Amazon Customer says: "End of one of my favorite fantasy series ever."
Would you listen to A Memory of Light again? Why?

Yes, To revisit all my friends from the past 20ish years... I will miss Mat's mischief.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Memory of Light?

The thought provoking dialog Rand had with himself while he was in his own reality, during the final confrontation with the Dark One.

Which character – as performed by Michael Kramer and Kate Reading – was your favorite?

Michael Kramer's Mat Cauthon, Michael nailed it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Rolling Dice

    Any additional comments?

For the first three quarters of this book I felt so dark and gloomy. But then, it was a dark and gloomy time in the book. I commend the author for pulling me into the story in this way. And then LIGHT, I was drawn out of the gloom as the hero's started to shine and the plots all came together. And in the end... Sad, sad to see this epic adventure come to a close.

    Well Done!

I will miss Jorden's works, yet now have a new master to read.

    Thank you Brandon.

  • Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 37 mins)
    • By Jon Krakauer
    • Narrated By Scott Brick
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

At the core of this book is an appalling double murder committed by two Mormon fundamentalist brothers, Ron and Dan Lafferty, who insist they received a revelation from God commanding them to kill their blameless victims. Weaving the story of the Lafferty brothers and their fanatical brethren with a clear-eyed look at Mormonism's violent past, Krakauer examines the underbelly of the most successful homegrown faith in the United States, and finds a distinctly American brand of religious extremism.

pixychild says: "Interesting @ arm's length"
    "Opinions Do Not Make Facts"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Facts. Very poor formed opinions spoke of as if they are hardened facts. I bought the book to read about the murders of people I am familiar with, but got a religion bashing book instead.

Has Under the Banner of Heaven turned you off from other books in this genre?

Would you be willing to try another one of Scott Brick’s performances?

NO WAY. If I wanted to hear fantasy I would have purchased Jordon or Sanderson.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment no doubt. Very poor investigative work by the author. Very poor representation of the facts. If I wanted to read religion bashing I would get on Facebook. POOR POOR POOR reading.

    Any additional comments?

If you are going to sell a book about murder. You may want to actually talk about said murders instead of your half bake opinions on a religion. I get it. You hate Mormons. OK move on and talk about the murders nnnnnnkkkkkkk

More than anything, Joel wants to be a Rithmatist. Chosen by the Master in a mysterious inception ceremony, Rithmatists have the power to infuse life into two-dimensional figures known as Chalklings. Rithmatists are humanity’s only defense against the Wild Chalklings - merciless creatures that leave mangled corpses in their wake. Having nearly overrun the territory of Nebrask, the Wild Chalklings now threaten all of the American Isles.

Brandon says: "Beware of the chalk!"
    "Harry Potter vrs Professor Snape"
What did you like best about The Rithmatist? What did you like least?

Very interesting twist on JK Rawlings Harry Potter story. I liked it. I just do not feel it was original at all. So many times during the read I keep visualizing Harry and Hermione Granger on another adventure.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Harry Potter series of corse...

What does Michael Kramer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Michael Kramer is the master. Anything he reads comes to life.

Did The Rithmatist inspire you to do anything?

    Any additional comments?

This was an acceptable read, I expect more out of Sanderson though.

    • UNABRIDGED (18 hrs and 50 mins)
    • By Jim Butcher
    • Narrated By James Marsters
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

Ethan M. says: "Thwarts Every Expectation - In a Good Way"
    "Very Disapointed"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No; Every battle was the same just changed bad guys names. same mono-log theme, same near death, same saving grace in the end. Jim don't curse in your books, you are not any good at it. It was painful to hear, Watch Good Fellows and take a lesson in cursing.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jim Butcher again?

I most likely own ever book and short story Jim has published. I will buy future books.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Love Cat Sith!!! "Even children can learn manners."

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Any additional comments?

The Story was great. The execution was really bad.

  • Change Your Questions, Change Your Life: 10 Powerful Tools for Life and Work, 2nd Edition, Revised and Expanded

    • UNABRIDGED (4 hrs and 45 mins)
    • By Marilee Adams
    • Narrated By Suzanne Toren

Virtually everything we think and do is influenced by the questions we ask ourselves - from "What should I wear?" to "What should I do with my life?" Our self-esteem, relationships, and careers are all profoundly affected by these questions. Dr. Marilee Adams introduces "QuestionThinking," an easy-to-use methodology for transforming thinking, action, and results through intentional and skillful question asking.

    Rockland says: "A Great Listen"
"Egocentric Babble DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK"
What would have made Change Your Questions, Change Your Life better?

40 minutes and 10 seconds into this book I had to shut it off. I had had enough. Not a peep about what this book was about in those 40 minutes and 10 seconds. This was quite possibly the most bloated self serving 40 minutes and 10 secs in the history of written word. I can only guess the entire book was like this. 1/5 of the book was so self serving the rest of it could be the most valuable reading I have ever needed yet I will never know, I honestly could not engure another sound coming from the reader.

Has Change Your Questions, Change Your Life turned you off from other books in this genre?

YES, would rather fail then endure this type of trash again.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    Any additional comments?

Deleted it from my library. I pray no other listener will have to endure this elitist testimony of self servering babble.

  • No Angel: My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hells Angels

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 26 mins)
    • By Jay Dobyns, Nils Johnson-Shelton
    • Narrated By Mel Foster
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Getting shot in the chest as a rookie ATF agent, bartering for machine guns, throttling down the highway at 100 miles per hour, and responding to a full-scale, bloody riot between the Hells Angels and their rivals, the Mongols - these are just a few of the high-adrenaline experiences Jay Dobyns recounts in this action-packed, hard to imagine, but true story of how he infiltrated the legendary Hells Angels.

    Clay says: "Trashy but entertaining"
    "Waste of money and time."

I feel like intelligence has been sucked out of me for having listened to the first few hours of this garbage. I finally had to shut it off. This dude is so self-serving and egotistical I fail to see how anyone could believe a word out of his mouth. DONOT waste your time and money on this as it is trash at best. In my opinion this author is completely untrustworthy and or so far out of touch with reality this book should be sold as fiction.

  • Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper, Case Closed

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 5 mins)
    • By Patricia Cornwell
    • Narrated By Kate Reading

Between August and November 1888, at least seven women were murdered in London's Whitechapel area. The gruesome nature of the their deaths caused panic in the East End for months, and gave rise to the sobriquet that was to become shorthand for a serial killer, Jack the Ripper.

Kathleen Murphy says: "Fascinating - BUT"
    "Mind Numbing o.O"

This is the fist review I have ever wrote. I felt if I could save even one person from wasting thier time and money on this book it would be worth me coming out of my shell to do it.

I thought of modern authers Jorden was the master of fluff. We have a new Master. Not only does Cornwell go on and on and on and on and on... (Sorry) about concepts and or facts, but Cornwell's speculation at times is disguised as a two or three word statement. I felt betrayed by this disguise. I would not suggest this to anyone for any reason. I am sorry I purchased this one.
