Elizabeth Prescott gets more than she bargained for when she moves to America and pursues her dream of owning a cattle ranch. Leaving her father and the only life she's ever known in England, Elizabeth and her brother, Tom, arrive in Colorado Springs in search of a new beginning. In A Westward Adventure, author Melissa D. Reedy weaves a tale of adventure, mystery, and love in the Old West.

Is this book a joke or did I inadvertently buy from the section for children under 10? For the first 5 minutes I though the immature sound of the story was because of the reader but it's mostly because of the childish writing. The author doesn't use a single contraction and it sounds like a kids story, very polite and goody goody. If you prefer books meant for adult or even teen readers, I doubt you'll like this one.

To settle a feud, Dominique Beauchamp was resigned to wed in order to heal their injured lands. Offered in marriage by her brother to the lord of Drakewich, she came to take the d'Lucy name... but never counted on losing her heart to the brother of her betrothed - the Black Dragon. Blaec d'Lucy mistrusted her from the beginning, believing her to be part of her brother's endless perfidy, but he was powerless to resist the fiery-haired vixen that rode so proudly into their midst. Their love was sealed... once upon a kiss.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

As wonderful as Braden Wright was bringing the hero to life, overall, this book would have been better narrated by someone else.

What does Braden Wright bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice as the hero's could not have been done as well in my head.

Could you see Once Upon a Kiss being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

This story would translate well into a movie.

    Any additional comments?

The best of this audiobook is a hot hero with a super sexy voice. Braden Wright reading as Blaec D'lucy was delicious. Blaec is strong, capable and attractive and his relationship with his brother is so touching. The story line is interesting and fairly believable. The heroine, Dominique, is sweet but rather silly and dumb and I don't think she is good at conversing with the hero. Her dialog and dealings with Blaec are awkward and uncomfortable, like watching a clumsy, young girl trying to seem cool around an older boy she has a crush on and failing miserably everytime. It was cringeworthy and took away from the story. While Braden Wright narrating made for the best part of this audiobook: an incredibly sexy hero, sadly, the rest of his voices made for the worst part. Most of the characters sound slow, silly or just plain ridiculous. Possibly if someone else had read for Dominique I wouldn't have thought her so dumb. Even Blaec's brother, Graham, should have sounded somewhat attractive but his voice made him seem weak. I honestly don't know if I could sit through this story again simply because most of the characters sound ridiculous to listen to.

Reckless, wild, and beautiful, Lily Lawson delights in shocking proper London society – and now she is determined to rescue her sister from an unwanted impending marriage to the notorious Alex, Lord Raiford, by fair means or foul. But while she succeeds outrageously, Alex is a master gamesman who is not to be undone.

    Overall

My first Lisa Kleypas novel, I decided to take a chance based on the praise and high ratings. Both the hero and heroine turned me off at first, she seemed smugly self-important and he just, well, smug and hateful and self-important. It didn't take too long before I was drawn in and made to care for them though, the hero especially was wonderful once he started to get over himself. I'd be wishing for my own Alex except I'm lucky enough to have one already, a modern version of course! I'm looking forward to listening to Dereck Cravens story, which will be my next purchase.

I took Spanish in high school and never tried French until now. French is a LOT harder than Spanish to understand and pronounce in my opinion. I feel confident that the Pimleur series will have me speaking basic French eventually.

Enter the privileged world of English aristocrats and experience the passion, intrigue, and romantic pleasures of the incomparable Malorys - a family of dashing rogues, rakehell adventurers, and spirited ladies. Now Jeremy, the son of gentleman pirate James Malory, falls in love with Danny, a young woman who grew up on the streets of London.

    Overall

For some reason, Jeremy has appealed to me more than the rest of the Malory men and I wasn't disappointed in his story. It was maybe a little too perfect though to be believable. I also could not stand the way Regina's name was pronounced. Everytime her name was said I cringed and wondered why the narrator wasn't corrected from the start. All in all though, a very fun read.
