Very nice idea! Well written and well narrated. Great plot, great characters with a lot of surprises. Bottom line it was a lot of fun. I hope there will be more in this series.

One hundred years before Ender's Game, the aliens arrived on Earth with fire and death. Earth Afire by Orson Scott Card and Aaron Johnston is the story of the First Formic War. Victor Delgado beat the alien ship to Earth, but just barely. Not soon enough to convince skeptical governments that there was a threat. They didn’t believe that until space stations and ships and colonies went up in sudden flame. And when that happened, only Mazer Rackham and the Mobile Operations Police could move fast enough to meet the threat.

Well written, classic Card and Stephen Rudnicki does his usual masterful job narrating the story. The only downside is that the story builds to a critical point and then stops. Now I'm left holding my breath waiting for the next in the series. I can understand ending with a cliff hanger, but as a listener its a little frustrating when the next book isn't available yet.

The story was pretty good but I felt the language and sexual violence ruined what would have been a good book. I know there are many books out there with stronger language etc. but from the reviews and description on Audible I had not expected this level. And for for me these things were distracting enough that I probably won't continue the series.

In a world increasingly indifferent to Christian truth, followers of Christ need to be equipped to communicate with those who do not speak their language or accept their source of authority. Gregory Koukl demonstrates how to get in the driver’s seat, keeping any conversation moving with thoughtful, artful diplomacy. You’ll learn how to maneuver comfortably and graciously through the minefields, stop challengers in their tracks, turn the tables and—most importantly—get people thinking about Jesus.

A book of practical suggestions for how to approach people with the gospel in a tactful meaningful way. The tactics are mainly "common sense" but the kind of "common sense" that is difficult to manufacture on the spur of the moment when you are confronted with an unexpected opportunity to share your faith. I found the book helpful and I would highly recommend it.

Now with the latest unfolding of events in Strattenburg, Theo will face his biggest challenge yet. Let me start by saying I enjoyed this book. If you've read any of Grisham's adult novels then you are aware how good he is at developing characters and this book was well done in that regard.

The book also held my interest til the end. It was a fun ride. Fun that is until the end. And that's where this book disappoints. There were several threads that ran through the story that were never resolved. These were not incidents that were mentioned in passing by some obscure character, but one thread in particular kept popping up over and over again. Part of the reason I was enthralled with the story was because I wanted to know what would happen to one particular character and how that situation would be resolved. When I finished the book and was left hanging, I felt cheated.

This series has a lot of potential and I hope Grisham will write more. I just hope that in some future book he will let us know the resolution to some of these dangling little threads.

With Michael’s friend Ostin, a techno-genius, they form the Electroclan, an alliance meant to protect them from a powerful group, the growing Order of Elgen, who are out to destroy them. The leader of the Elgen, Dr. Hatch, has kidnapped Michael’s mother, and time is running out. After narrowly escaping an Elgen trap, Ostin’s discovery of bizarre “rat fires” in South America leads the gang to the jungles of Peru.

Fun for the whole family! My preteen children and my teenagers alike loved both Michael Vey books. And yes, even though its a kid's story I have to admit I enjoyed it too. The characters are well developed and the plot is intense with a lot of action. I should mention that the narrator did an excellent job, and was easy to listen to.

My kids keep asking if the next book in the series has been published. We hope it will be soon!

Very nicely done! Still retained a little of the flavor of the old Tom Corbet radio show but it has been up dated with modern vocabulary and sound effects. IMHO the plot and characters were as complex and well done as most of the original Star Trek episodes. I hope the Colonial Radio Players will make more of these. If you are a sci fi fan give it a try, you'll probably be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Well developed characters and great plot. Nicely done. The book is obviously the first of a series so it ends with some major conflicts unresolved. A little disappointing that the next book isn't available yet on Audible, but I hope it will be soon.

A page turner for sure and worth a credit. I would also like to put a plug in here to the author or publisher if they should happen to read this review. Would you please consider putting the Cooper Kids Adventure Series into an audio format? I think it would be a big winner, at least I know that we would buy it. Thanks

This is the compelling story of U.S. Air Force Major Joe Mack, a man born out of time. When his experimental aircraft is forced down in Russia and he escapes a Soviet prison camp, he must call upon the ancient skills of his Indian forebears to survive the vast Siberian wilderness. Only one route lies open to Mack: the path of his ancestors, overland to the Bering Strait and across the sea to America. But in pursuit is a legendary tracker....

    Overall

I read this book years ago and have been hoping it would show up on Audible. I've read many of Louis Lamour's books and like the previous reviewer I think this may be his best. It's hard not to think of all the Rambo movies you've seen when reading this book but the main character has less attitude and uses his brains more often than his muscles. Lamour's personal knowledge of survival and tracking techniques as well as history give this book the same feel of authenticity that you'll find in his westerns. If you like adventure I don't think you'll be disappointed.
