"great"
This is a great book well worth a listen. The only problem I have is with the narrator. I think he only narrates the abridged version of a couple of his books. IMHO Peretti is as good a narrator as he is an author and I wish he would narrate all of his books unabridged. I would also like to see the Cooper Kids Adventures (narrated by Peretti) published someday!
"Good but...."
The story was pretty good but I felt the language and sexual violence ruined what would have been a good book. I know there are many books out there with stronger language etc. but from the reviews and description on Audible I had not expected this level. And for for me these things were distracting enough that I probably won't continue the series.
"Very Helpful"
A book of practical suggestions for how to approach people with the gospel in a tactful meaningful way. The tactics are mainly "common sense" but the kind of "common sense" that is difficult to manufacture on the spur of the moment when you are confronted with an unexpected opportunity to share your faith. I found the book helpful and I would highly recommend it.
"Good but...."
Let me start by saying I enjoyed this book. If you've read any of Grisham's adult novels then you are aware how good he is at developing characters and this book was well done in that regard.
The book also held my interest til the end. It was a fun ride. Fun that is until the end. And that's where this book disappoints. There were several threads that ran through the story that were never resolved. These were not incidents that were mentioned in passing by some obscure character, but one thread in particular kept popping up over and over again. Part of the reason I was enthralled with the story was because I wanted to know what would happen to one particular character and how that situation would be resolved. When I finished the book and was left hanging, I felt cheated.
This series has a lot of potential and I hope Grisham will write more. I just hope that in some future book he will let us know the resolution to some of these dangling little threads.
"Great Reading!"
Fun for the whole family! My preteen children and my teenagers alike loved both Michael Vey books. And yes, even though its a kid's story I have to admit I enjoyed it too. The characters are well developed and the plot is intense with a lot of action. I should mention that the narrator did an excellent job, and was easy to listen to.
My kids keep asking if the next book in the series has been published. We hope it will be soon!
"Nice Job"
Very nicely done! Still retained a little of the flavor of the old Tom Corbet radio show but it has been up dated with modern vocabulary and sound effects. IMHO the plot and characters were as complex and well done as most of the original Star Trek episodes. I hope the Colonial Radio Players will make more of these. If you are a sci fi fan give it a try, you'll probably be as pleasantly surprised as I was.
"Very nice!"
Well developed characters and great plot. Nicely done. The book is obviously the first of a series so it ends with some major conflicts unresolved. A little disappointing that the next book isn't available yet on Audible, but I hope it will be soon.
"A Request"
A page turner for sure and worth a credit. I would also like to put a plug in here to the author or publisher if they should happen to read this review. Would you please consider putting the Cooper Kids Adventure Series into an audio format? I think it would be a big winner, at least I know that we would buy it. Thanks
"Louis Lamour Fan"
I read this book years ago and have been hoping it would show up on Audible. I've read many of Louis Lamour's books and like the previous reviewer I think this may be his best. It's hard not to think of all the Rambo movies you've seen when reading this book but the main character has less attitude and uses his brains more often than his muscles. Lamour's personal knowledge of survival and tracking techniques as well as history give this book the same feel of authenticity that you'll find in his westerns. If you like adventure I don't think you'll be disappointed.
"Worth Reading"
Many Christians look to corporations or political figures as models for leadership in the church. Most of us who are Christians have been in churches that choose deacons, elders and even pastors based on personal charisma, polish, or congregational politics. MacArthur cuts through all of the worldly influence to paint a picture of leadership based on the Scripture alone.
It is biblical based, to the point, easy to understand. Highly recommended.
"Nice"
Nicely done and very entertaining.
