I work in mine-action (landmines) travel a lot. Murder and mayhem is my favorite category…but, I love great books pretty much of any kind!

When Harry left Oslo again for Hong Kong - fleeing the traumas of life as a cop - he thought he was there for good. But then the unthinkable happened. The son of the woman he loved, lost, and still loves is arrested for murder: Oleg, the boy Harry helped raise but couldn't help deserting when he fled. Harry has come back to prove that Oleg is not a killer. Barred from rejoining the police force, he sets out on a solitary, increasingly dangerous investigation that takes him deep into the world of the most virulent drug to ever hit the streets.

Would you try another book from Jo Nesbø and/or Robin Sachs?

I really like Jo Nesbo's books, but with this book, for the first time, I found myself wandering, putting it down and struggling to pick it up again. It still has the Nesbo style, which I consider excellent, but it's not up to the calibre of his other books.

What could Jo Nesbø have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I don't want to spoil the book for anyone else, perhaps I can say that he goes to the same end with the one love in his life...at the end of every book...there are the ups...and then the lowest low.

    Which scene was your favorite?

This is the first time that none of the scene's stay in my mind, none are so memorable.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Nesbo has an incredible style of writing that holds me, keeps me listening, until the very last page. I have to admit that I just fell asleep listening to this book, over and over...and don't even know if I listened to the end...it didn't seem to matter. I started another book.

Jack Reacher. The ultimate loner. An elite ex-military cop who left the service years ago, he's moved from place to place...without family...without possessions...without commitments.

Would you consider the audio edition of Persuader to be better than the print version?

Lee Child is another of my favorite authors, have read them all and this one is another GREAT READ!!

What did you like best about this story?

All of it. As you read/listen to this story you feel as if you know Reacher, you've known him forever and you're in there with him through the whole story! Lee Child has a way of making you feel like you're an active participant.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I hate to turn off the phone (listening device) to even go to sleep when I'm listening to one of Lee Child's books, really loved this one.

    Any additional comments?

    READ IT!!

If you could sum up The Gods of Guilt in three words, what would they be?

If you've never read this author, you're in for a treat. I don't think there is a single book that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. This is another home run for Michael Connelly!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Gods of Guilt?

I think the end of the story, when all of the pieces finally fit together, the bittersweet understanding. It's great!

Which character – as performed by Peter Giles – was your favorite?

    Great performance.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh, and maybe not cry, but I felt it, deeply, especially at the end.

    Any additional comments?

    It's a great read.

Award-winning author Craig Johnson's critically acclaimed debut Western mystery takes listeners to the breathtaking mountains of Wyoming for a tale of cold-blooded vengeance. Four high-school boys were given suspended sentences for raping a Cheyenne girl. Now, two of the boys have been killed, and only Sheriff Walt Longmire can keep the other two safe.

What made the experience of listening to The Cold Dish the most enjoyable?

First, I have to be honest, I am not a "western" type of person. Not sure how I found him, or even what made me buy the first book…but, I thank God I did. This writer is incredible. I love everything he has written, have listened to all that I can get my hands. This book is particularly good, but all get 5 Stars from me. I have listened to almost all of his books on my downtime in Dubai, Iraq, or Istanbul waiting for meetings, and he has made it actually enjoyable to have to the downtime that I usually dread.

What did you like best about this story?

Craig Johnson writes with an easy pen. He pulls you along, slowly, but completely enthralled in his story. He always leaves me wanting more, this is one of the best books, but they're all great.

What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

You get addicted to the way he speaks the words, truly builds the character as he performs. It's hard to explain, you can almost see Walt Longmire as this man speaks. Great performance!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, there is one scene when he is describing the young woman who is the center of the book, a lovely young woman who just happens to be mentally disabled…he wrote "Her smile was like the sun coming through a church window". I could see that smile, bright and colorful and warming. My youngest child is multiply handicapped, the joy of my life, Craig Johnson put into words what I could not; simply, completely and perfectly.

    Any additional comments?

I missed a reception for him in Washington a couple of weeks ago because I was traveling. I'm not a "fan" kind of person, never have felt compelled to meet an author, I just enjoy the books they write, but don't feel the need to get a signature on a book. I would love to know this man. I'd like to know the man behind the great, down to earth, steady, intriguing and so incredibly well written books.

Would you listen to Sacred again? Why?

Dennis Lehane is an excellent writer, he keeps me listening into the wee hours of the morning. This book was very good, twists, and especially at the end. Absolutely never saw it coming.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It seemed pretty straight forward, the job was clear and seemingly a simple lost and found kind of thing, but as great books do, the twists kept me thinking "whoa".

What does Jonathan Davis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The performance is excellent, the inflections…the hesitations…all keep you engrossed and wanting more.

    Any additional comments?

    Great book.
