"Highly recommend. Great Narration."
It's been fun following the route of the book of spells. Carina has loved Max since she was a young teen. He sees her as a little sister to be protected, but has no interest in her as a woman until he sees just how much she has grown up. She has trouble breaking free of the restraints her older brother, Michael, imposes on her believing he knows what is best for everyone in the family. Max is Michael's best friend and doesn't know how to handle the new Carina who is trying to break out of the mold that she is being cast in.
Narrator, Colleen Marlo does an excellent job with both male and female voices. Great tone inflection, especially with Maggie (from the Marriage Trap) who displays a whole lot of attitude. This narrator manages to carry the voice and attitude of Maggie throughout all the books in the series. I find this to be a rare quality in other narrators. I will look for more from the narrator.
I would highly recommend this series, only disappointed that book 4 has not yet been release and I have to wait several months for it. I will be looking for more from this author.
"Good story. Christian based. Clean; suspenseful."
Very good story. Clean.
The interaction between the hero and heroine.
Cole and his brothers.
there were several parts that made me laugh. Several suspenseful parts.
"Terrible Narrator!"
This might be a good story, but it's hard to get past the narration to appreciate it.
Narrator is stinted and choppy. Often monotone. Pauses in illogical places.
"Highly recommend. Great Narration."
Great series; listen in order! Each book naturally flows into the next in the series.
Sophie and Jake have each loved each other since they were children, but never let anyone, especially the other see it. Each has very strong self esteem issues and don't believe themselves worthy of the other. (It is actually a little over done.)
Author is very talented and pulls on your emotions throughout the book. Narration is great.
Contemporary steamy romance. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre.
"Great new series. Fantastic Author!"
First let me say that this is the first book I have listened to or read by this author. Bella Andre is now on my favorites list with Susan Mallery and Sherryl Woods.
Eva Kaminsky does a great job with the narration and is very easy to listen to and stay focused on the story line. I will look for more books that she has narrated.
Now, for the story itself. The Sullivans embrace you into their family from the start. The story of Chase and Chloe is very captivating and realistic. The steamy sex scenes have kept my husband interested from the start and he is very upset with me whenever I have need to pause.
Spoiler Alert: I love that the last scene of the first book is picked up 20 minutes later as the first scene of the second book. It just flows from one to another. In 3 1/2 days we have listened to the first 4 books. We just can't stop.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a sharp and witty romance with some spice thrown in.
"Highly recommend. Great Narration."
My husband and I enjoyed this series. Once we started listening, we couldn't stop. I had to let him finish listening to the end of the story on my ipod while I was at work. Since I work 3rd shift, I got to finish it at work using my Audible App on my iPhone. Then we were ready for our joint listening the next time we were in the car. We always start in the car then move it into the house because we are caught up in the story.
It's been fun following the route of the book of spells. I enjoyed Maggie and Michael. He is very old school Italian while she has a damaged spirit and is very distrustful. Maggie will do anything to protect those she loves, so strikes up a deal with Michael. The chemistry between the two is great.
Narrator, Colleen Marlo does an excellent job with both male and female voices. Great tone inflection, especially with Maggie who displays a whole lot of attitude. I will look for more from the narrator.
I would highly recommend this series, only disappointed that book 4 has not yet been release and I have to wait several months for it. I will be looking for more from this author.
"Great series. Excellent narrator."
My husband and I enjoyed this series. Once we started listening, we couldn't stop. I had to let him finish listening to the end of the story on my ipod while I was at work. Since I would 3rd shift, I got to finish it at work using my Audible App on my iPhone. Then we were ready for our joint listening the next day. We start a book whenever we go anywhere in the car, and then immediately transfer the device to our home listening system.
It's been fun following the route of the book of spells. I enjoyed that Alexa and Nick each have very different ideas of the qualities needed in the perfect mate. They marry for purely selfish reasons on each of the parts, and the conflict begins.
Narrator, Colleen Marlo does an excellent job with both male and female voices. Great inflection.
I would highly recommend this series, only disappointed that book 4 has not yet been release and I have to wait several months for it.
"Okay story. Poor narrator."
Interesting enough to keep me wanting to continue with the series, but not great. Gets better into the series. The narrator is terrible with men's voices. They sound like whiny children. Joe is a thirty something man who keeps repeating "Babe" like he's still in his teens. Keri is ruled by a demanding boss. Joe's twin, Terry, is still holding a grudge from high school against Keri. Good to see each eventually put the past behind and move on to a new commitment.
"Great series. Best narrator."
My husband and I are enjoying this series. I like Renee Werbowski as the narrator. She has brought great voice to the characters.
"Another Fool's Gold treasure!"
My husband and I look forward to each Fool's Gold book as it is released. I strongly recommend the entire series in order. Susan Mallery is a very skilled author.
