Set in late 19th-century Chicago, Into the Whirlwind introduces Mollie Knox, who’s just lost her successful watch company in the Great Chicago Fire. Would you listen to Into the Whirlwind again? Why?

I do not usually listen to things about true historical events, but was immediately caught up in the Great Chicago Fire and details of watchmaking. Both Mollie and Zach were believable characters for me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Into the Whirlwind?

I appreciated the day to day struggles of the many people from different walks of life being forced together as they try to rebuild their lives. I especially found it interesting that the mayor of the city sent out telegrams across the country asking for help from neighboring cities (a practice that still happens today). I enjoyed the actual historical details at the end of the book.

What about Morgan Hallett’s performance did you like?

I thoroughly enjoyed the narrative and would look for this narrator in the future.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I appreciated that Molly cared about her employees as family and was determined to keep her business going to protect them. Even if some of her actions were misguided, her heart was in the right place.

    Any additional comments?

I was caught up in the storyline immediately and even though the action slowed, it was a realistic portrayal of the rebuilding stages in the aftermath of great tragedy.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Every story in this series has conflict and suspense as well as the romantic tension. I highly recommend this series.

Have you listened to any of Claudia Harris’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to this reader before, but found her very engaging.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wished I had enough time to hear all of he book in one sitting, but I took two days to hear all of it. I am glad to have taken the extra time thinking about the story.

    Any additional comments?

I enjoy Elizabeth Hoyt's novels and would recommend them to anyone who enjoys historical novels.

Sophie Sullivan, a librarian in San Francisco, was five years old when she fell head over heels in love with Jake McCann. Twenty years later, she's convinced the notorious bad boy still sees her as the "nice" Sullivan twin. That is, when he bothers to look at her at all. But when they both get caught up in the magic of the first Sullivan wedding, she knows it's long past time to do whatever it takes to make him see her for who she truly is...the woman who will love him forever.

Great series; listen in order! Each book naturally flows into the next in the series.

Sophie and Jake have each loved each other since they were children, but never let anyone, especially the other see it. Each has very strong self esteem issues and don't believe themselves worthy of the other. (It is actually a little over done.)

Author is very talented and pulls on your emotions throughout the book. Narration is great.

Contemporary steamy romance. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre.

With The Look of Love, best-selling author Bella Andre introduces you to a fun and emotional contemporary romance series about the Sullivan family. Because when a Sullivan bad boy falls... he falls hard. And it's forever. Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her cheek can attest to that. And when her car skids off the side of a wet country road straight into a ditch, she's convinced even the gorgeous guy who rescues her must be too good to be true. Or is he?

    Story

First let me say that this is the first book I have listened to or read by this author. Bella Andre is now on my favorites list with Susan Mallery and Sherryl Woods.

Eva Kaminsky does a great job with the narration and is very easy to listen to and stay focused on the story line. I will look for more books that she has narrated.

Now, for the story itself. The Sullivans embrace you into their family from the start. The story of Chase and Chloe is very captivating and realistic. The steamy sex scenes have kept my husband interested from the start and he is very upset with me whenever I have need to pause.

Spoiler Alert: I love that the last scene of the first book is picked up 20 minutes later as the first scene of the second book. It just flows from one to another. In 3 1/2 days we have listened to the first 4 books. We just can't stop.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a sharp and witty romance with some spice thrown in.

Now she’s earned her MBA and come to work at Michael’s new venture, America’s fastest-growing bakery empire. But some things never change: Her overprotective family still treats her like a child. With three drop-dead gorgeous siblings, she’s still the ugly duckling of the bunch. And Max, the company’s new CEO, still barely notices her. Story

It's been fun following the route of the book of spells. Carina has loved Max since she was a young teen. He sees her as a little sister to be protected, but has no interest in her as a woman until he sees just how much she has grown up. She has trouble breaking free of the restraints her older brother, Michael, imposes on her believing he knows what is best for everyone in the family. Max is Michael's best friend and doesn't know how to handle the new Carina who is trying to break out of the mold that she is being cast in.

Narrator, Colleen Marlo does an excellent job with both male and female voices. Great tone inflection, especially with Maggie (from the Marriage Trap) who displays a whole lot of attitude. This narrator manages to carry the voice and attitude of Maggie throughout all the books in the series. I find this to be a rare quality in other narrators. I will look for more from the narrator.

I would highly recommend this series, only disappointed that book 4 has not yet been release and I have to wait several months for it. I will be looking for more from this author.

My husband and I enjoyed this series. Once we started listening, we couldn't stop. I had to let him finish listening to the end of the story on my ipod while I was at work. Since I work 3rd shift, I got to finish it at work using my Audible App on my iPhone. Then we were ready for our joint listening the next time we were in the car. We always start in the car then move it into the house because we are caught up in the story.

It's been fun following the route of the book of spells. I enjoyed Maggie and Michael. He is very old school Italian while she has a damaged spirit and is very distrustful. Maggie will do anything to protect those she loves, so strikes up a deal with Michael. The chemistry between the two is great.

Joe’s never forgotten the first girl to break his heart, so he’s intrigued to hear Keri’s back in town—and looking for him. Interesting enough to keep me wanting to continue with the series, but not great. Gets better into the series. The narrator is terrible with men's voices. They sound like whiny children. Joe is a thirty something man who keeps repeating "Babe" like he's still in his teens. Keri is ruled by a demanding boss. Joe's twin, Terry, is still holding a grudge from high school against Keri. Good to see each eventually put the past behind and move on to a new commitment.
