This is the only audible book I've downloaded that I was unable to finish. There was some interesting material in the book but it was offset by the offensive language and many numberous graphic sexual references which added nothing to the book. I'm not a prude, but in all found the book of little value.
I was enthralled with the first 2/3 of the book, then the storyline just fell apart for me, unlike The Time Traveler's Wife which I re-read after listening to the book because I enjoyed it so much. The last 1/3 of Her Fearful Symmetry just didn't flow at all for me. I felt the author had "run out of steam" in completing a story that was so interesting at the beginning. The most interesting character ended up being Martin who was not one of the main personalities; the description of his OCD was very well portrayed.
Ken Follett never fails to keep my attention in bringing history alive. Very long book but well worth the time. Loved the 14th century characters in the story; his weaving of the place of religion, medical knowledge, social status during that time period was very well done and kept my attention throughout.
