"It was OK"
I liked the premise...sort of 50 shades (ish) - decent characters
Yes...the narration was good - not the best...not the worst
It was good for what it was...it's not something I'll go back to again and again
If you are looking for some "ear candy", this one will fit the bill. It's a "middle of the pack" kind of book.
"Book #2 continues the magic!"
Yes...yes...a thousand times yes!!! If you are a fan of the genre, I don't think it gets much better.
The most memorable moment was in the car when he confessed what happened to him as a child. I cried...actually cried while driving home from work. My husband thought something terrible had happened to me and I couldn't explain why I was so upset over a book!
I love every scene with Cary...even if he is being bad. I want a roommate like him...someone who will do my hair and help me pick out clothes...someone who will love me warts and all and be my friend for the rest of my life!!!
The car scene I already mentioned...and then the scene at the very end. I cannot wait for the next book!!!
"Fifty Shades who?"
OMG - I think I have listened to this book 3 times already and have replayed moments many times more. I absolutely LOVE these two characters. I have been sucked into their world and hang on every moment they share. They are broken...by a similar past...and they are drawn together even when they are not sure they want to be.
Well...the sex is steamy hot...but I really like the moments when they are just together...quiet...having dinner or talking. It's in these moments that I fall in love with them a bit more each time.
Not prior to this series...but she has nailed it on this title and the next one in the series.
This book made me laugh - cry - scream - you name it. I haven't had this extreme of a reaction to a book in a long time.
If you are a fan of Fifty Shades, in my opinion, this book is a much better read. The narrator is certainly much better...and the characters are so well developed. If you are like me, you will be intensely angry at these characters one moment...and then cheering for them the next. I cannot wait for the 3rd book in this series!!!
"Wonderful love story!"
The setting (a winery) - the male character (a photographer) - and the female character (a battered woman intent on making her own way) are a recipe for fun...and the author does not disappoint! This is my first Bella Andre book, but it won't be my last...book 2 and book 3 of the Sullivans are already on my wish list!
It reminded me a bit of Sarah Mayberry's "All over you" - in that the female lead had been totally burned before and needed a lot of space and tenderness before she was willing to lay it all on the line again.
Chase Sullivan's patience and genuine caring really touched me. He was such a wonderful and kind character...and yet the author was able to make him a strong exciting male lead at the same time.
I am already looking forward to book 2 (Marcus's story). The author did a great job of only giving me a tiny peek into his character and making me drool for more!
"Steamy x 10 !!"
If you like a steamy romance with a dominant male at the helm (and frankly, who wouldn't?) then you will love this book by Maya Banks. I am sure I was blushing in the office breakroom listening to the splendid narration on my lunch break!
Loved the characters and the way the storyline swept me away.
Unlike some listeners, I love a male voice reading these types of stories. Adam Paul's melodic tones lead to many of the aforementioned blushes.
"I loved this one!"
Yes! For all of us "married folk" who wish we had the courage to rekindle the excitement in our marriage but fear rejection...this one really hits home.
I loved the characters...honest and real and totally likeable.
A story of love and lust rekindled.
I have listened to this book several times. It's a keeper!
