I am a major Steven Saylor fan. Love the work. You can not imagine my disappointment upon hearing the DRY, Cold read by Scott Harrison. He pauses between every sentance as if figuring out the next words. Fraught with misspronounced words, and half assed characterizations, I just could NOT listen any more. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!
anything not involving Latin names. Poor man hasn't a clue.
What a chop job! It is so abridged that it makes no sence, and the constant miss pronounced words and names made me CRAZY!!!!
Ms. LeGuin uses the english language with the same flare as Sandberg, or Twain. She paints landscapes and portraits with her words, creating people and places you can actually care about, while sharing their lives and adventures. Storyteller, Wordsmith, Poet, a truley gifted artist!
visiting another world.
Fun Fun Fun!!!
none that I've heard so far even come close.
He brings these beloved characters to life. Han and Luke are spot on!
Star Wars fans don't miss this unique listening experience.
Beautifully performed, stunningly well written. One of the best listens I've ever had. Five Stars!
What a shame!! Such a rich and colorful book, sweeping epic story read by someone who should not read aloud even to herself. The drone of her monotone drove me to distraction. A WAIST of MONEY!!! Buy the book!!! Read it yourself, I beg you.
As always, Mrs. Emerson is a blast to hang out with. Over and above the rich textural style of our beloved author, the characterizations of Barbara Rosenblat make this listen so much fun!!! Ms. Rosenblat is one of the true STARS of this medium. TWO THUMBS UP.
This is by far the very worst READ I've EVER heard!!! Dry, Monotone, and chock full of pregnant pauses. This is a crime against this WONDERFUL classic. Llyod James should NEVER read to anyone AGAIN!!!
