The impossible has been accomplished. The Lord Ruler - the man who claimed to be god incarnate and brutally ruled the world for a thousand years - has been vanquished. But Kelsier, the hero who masterminded that triumph, is dead too, and now the awesome task of building a new world has been left to his young protégé, Vin, the former street urchin who is now the most powerful Mistborn in the land, and to the idealistic young nobleman she loves.

Sanderson is truly weaving an epic tale with this continuation of his Mistborn series. This second in the series will continually toss you about on a road without straightaways. My account cannot update fast enough to get to this conclusion.

In this sequel to the phenomenal New York Times best seller The Shadow Rising, Robert Jordan again plunges us into his extraordinarily rich, totally unforgettable world.

The place where this book leads has me diving straight into the next. Not that this book isn't great in it's own right, but it is truly leading up to something much more. There are characters that are completely left out of this piece in the series that I wished had some sort of part in the whole of things, which was a bit disappointing. Yet, is a testament to the fact that I've grown to love most all of these creations of Jordan's.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out in The Shadow Rising, book four of the Wheel of Time, as The Shadow is rising to cover humankind. In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve. Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn.

This tells more of the story of who has become my one of my favorite character's in this series then I could have asked for. This book brought this series back around for me, actually, and made me realize why I must have every one of these.

In I Am Legend, a plague has decimated the world, and those unfortunate enough to survive are transformed into blood-thirsty creatures of the night. Robert Neville is the last living man on earth. Everyone else has become a vampire, and they are all hungry for Neville's blood. By day, he stalks the sleeping undead, by night, he barricades himself in his home and prays for the dawn.

Now on the pretense that I've not seen Omega Man, but I have seen I Am Legend the movie and enjoyed it; this book made me wish they'd have actually followed it in the most recent iteration. I was amazed, yet pleased, at the differences. The ending I still wasn't satisfied with, only because I wanted More!, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't make sense and complete this story in a nice little package.

If you have any interest, and definitely if you like I Am Legend the movie, I believe you will enjoy this deeper descent into Robert Neville's madness and enjoy the true story of why He Is Legend.

It has been 40 years since the publication of this classic science-fiction novel that changed the way we look at the stars and ourselves. From the savannas of Africa at the dawn of mankind to the rings of Saturn as man adventures to the outer rim of our solar system, 2001: A Space Odyssey is a journey unlike any other.

Simply put, a must series for any Sci-Fi fan. I read this, and still have, all of these in hardback from picking them up at a used book shop ten or twelve years ago. I loved this audio iteration and it truly took me back to why this story is so great.

The Wheel of Time returns, and Ages come and pass. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

    "An Epic Tale"
    Overall

I found myself wanting in this third book of Jordan's Wheel of Time series. I wish we could have spent more time with certain characters rather then others, which is just taste on my part. As well as, spend less time focusing on what women think of men and how men don't understand, or vice-versa. This concept is mentioned previously in the series, but truly ground into you in this tale.

Otherwise, I found the story-telling like no other as always. Robert Jordan truly had a gift.

The conclusion of the Mistborn trilogy fulfills all the promise of the first two books. Revelations abound, connections rooted in early chapters of the series click into place, and surprises, as satisfying as they are stunning, blossom like fireworks to dazzle and delight. It all leads up to a finale unmatched for originality and audacity that will leave listeners shaking their heads in wonder, as if awaking from an amazing dream.

In this third book of the series Sanderson takes us on the most enjoyable ride yet of the trilogy. It is a fitting conclusion to an epic tale I truly wish we could come back to. I hope his new book, "Warbreaker," comes to Audible soon.

The Wheel of Time turns and ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the age that gave it birth returns again. For centuries, gleemen have told the tales of The Great Hunt of the Horn. So many tales about each of the Hunters, and so many Hunters to tell of. Now, the Horn itself is found: the Horn of Valere long thought only legend, the Horn which will raise the dead heroes of the ages.

Other then delve into what has already been said, there's a reason this series is as acclaimed as I've heard about. With the conclusion of this book and the epic scope of where you'll be taken you'll be left wondering, "Now what could follow that up?" I'm about to find out as I download the third in the series with a high recommendation for this book, as well.

When their village is attacked by trollocs, monsters thought to be only legends, three young men, Rand, Matt, and Perrin, flee in the company of the Lady Moiraine, a sinister visitor of unsuspected powers. Thus begins an epic adventure set in a world of wonders and horror, where what was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

    Overall

I've heard wonderful things about this series. I was always stand offish when first hearing about it because of the untimely demise of Robert Jordan and that the series never concluded. Yet, this book includes an interview with the man at the end of story which I thought truly wonderful.
Then, even more so great is the fact that Brandon Sanderson (Elantris, and the Mistborn series) is going to continue the Wheel of Time. He is well qualified having read Sanderson's other novels.
In short, this story, so far, has lived up to the regard and praise I've heard of it. You can tell of so many authors who've obviously been inspired by this series since.

Any sci-fi/fantasy fan owes it to themselves to experience this epic scope of storytelling.
