Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s two previous novels—lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority.

Wonderful!!! Excellent!!! Start reading immediately!! If you loved the first two, you will NOT be diappointed by this one. My only criticism is the presents of all the different Swedish names which makes it difficult to remember who's who.
Simon Vance continues to be the wonderful narrator!!!
Sad they'll be no more books by Stieg Larsson.

From the glamorous ease of life in Prague before the Occupation, to the horrors of Nazi Europe, The Lost Wife explores the power of first love, the resilience of the human spirit, and the strength of memory.

Where does The Secret Keeper rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I could not stop listening to this book. Wonderful story that moves back & forth between WWII, the 1960's and the present. Caroline Lee, is an amazing narrator that gives life to the many characters with different voices & variations in their accents. This is a must read!!!! Enjoy!!!!

From master storyteller Bryce Courtenay comes a colorful, lusty story set in the 13th century, an epic tale of a Europe torn by religious intolerance. The story centers around Sylvia Honeyeater, who sings like an angel and can literally charm the birds from the trees. The narrative also features the Pied Piper of Hamelin, Francis of Assisi, the Muslim Sultan and his harem, and the fervor that becomes the Children's Crusade and then, later, the Crusades.

Would you try another book from Bryce Courtenay and/or Edwina Wren?

Love all of Courtenay's work!! Would happily listen to Wren if she would NOT use such phony accents.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Edwina Wren?

Wren is a good narrator when she speaks normally, but her accents her very poor and annoying!!

What would have made Fifty Shades of Grey better?

If it had NOT been written!!

What could E L James have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    Been a better writer!!

How could the performance have been better?

If there had been another performer!!

What character would you cut from Fifty Shades of Grey?

    All!!

Listening to this audiobook is a complete waste of time. It is poorly written; extremely poorly performed & there is no story. I bought it because of the hype...what a mistake.

St. Elizabeth's is a home for unwed mothers in the 1960s. Life there is not unpleasant, and for most, it is temporary. Not so for Rose, a beautiful, mysterious woman who comes to the home pregnant but not unwed. She plans to give up her baby because she knows she cannot be the mother it needs.

But St. Elizabeth's is near a healing spring, and when Rose's time draws near, she cannot go through with her plans, not all of them.

Stephen Friedman is just inches away from everything he could ever desire. It's Los Angeles in the early 70s, and Friedman is living the groovy southern California life of a real-estate wheeler dealer. He's making money hand-over-fist and has long given up hope of finding the family he's lost in worn-torn Poland. But when a deceased woman's papers reveal that she possessed a priceless religious relic, and that she may have been his mother, Stephen becomes hungry for answers. A hunger that may kill him.

Ayla, one of the most remarkable and beloved heroines in contemporary fiction, continues to explore the world and the people around her with curiosity, insight, and, above all, courage. As the story opens, Ayla, Jondalar, and their infant daughter, Jonayla, are living with the Zelandonii in the Ninth Cave - a shelter of stone. Ayla has been chosen as an acolyte and has embarked on the arduous task of training to become a spiritual leader.

This was extremely disappointing after having read & reread the other 5 book of the series. This was nothing more then a repetition of the earlier books, with a short new story line towards the end. There is much description of the painted caves...too much & dull in my opinion. If I hadn't heard this last book, I would have missed nothing!!! Take a pass...be satisfied with the first 5 books....that where the series should have ended!!!
This one is just a last grab for more money of a great 5 book series!!!

Music has set the tone for most of Zoe Baxter’s life. And it’s music that brings her back to love. When fertility issues lead to a divorce, Zoe throws herself into her career as a music therapist. As an unexpected friendship with a woman slowly blossoms into love, she makes plans for a new life, but to her shock and inevitable rage, some people - even those she loves and trusts most - don’t want that to happen.

Another thoughtful, well written book dealing with present day problems. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, except for the added music at the start each section...FF these ASAP....had the lyrics been spoken instead of sung it certainly would have been more bearable. In addition, the singer was horrible.
This should be re-recorded WITHOUT the terribly distraction music!!!

As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children, unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours.

Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret. But when a 12-year-old girl is found murdered in the same woods, he and Detective Cassie Maddox find themselves investigating a case chillingly similar to the previous unsolved mystery.
