An arrogant duke does the unthinkable - he falls in love with his mistress.... She raced onto the green, desperate to stop a duel. In the mêlée, Jocelyn Dudley, Duke of Tresham, was shot. To his astonishment, Tresham found himself hiring the servant as his nurse. Jane Ingleby was far too bold for her own good. Her blue eyes were the sort a man could drown in - were it not for her impudence. She questioned his every move, breached his secrets, touched his soul. When he offered to set her up in his London town house, love was the last thing on his mind.

    Overall

I absolutely hated the heroine in this story. She emasculated the man the whole book. Ugh! If you like to read about men being pushed around and brow beaten, this book is for you. There is a difference between standing up for yourself and just being plain mean! And the narrator was "perfectly horrid." This book got 2 stars because this author can write well.

Please don't waste your credit on this one. I think Ms Ashley's books need to be read not listened to. The narrator is a terrible match for this kind of book. And please Ms. Ashley, stop using the word "therefore"

Sebastian Ballister, the notorious Marquess of Dain, is big, bad, and dangerous to know. No respectable woman would have anything to do with the "Bane and Blight of the Ballisters", and he wants nothing to do with respectable women. He's determined to continue doing what he does best - sin and sin again - and all's going swimmingly…until the day a shop door opens and she walks in.

If you like historical, you will love this! We need more Loretta Chase! Great characters with a believable storyline. The character development was realistic, not the idiotic examples of misunderstanding in most romances. The heroine is honest and perceptive. A breath of fresh air!

Zoe is used to taking care of herself and has long ago accepted that if anything bad was going to happen, it was going to happen to her. So when she loses her job over something most bosses would probably be happy with and her life starts going down hill from there she doesn't expect it to get any better. She certainly didn't expect any help from the loud jerk next door, but then again she has nothing to lose so puts her trust in him and hopes for the best.

Story was okay but it should have ended earlier. It was like the author wanted to make it longer when the story was over. The situations in this book were also a bit over the top. Most of them were unrealistic.

One such "experiment" captures her heart and she’ll do anything to save him - even if he hates her for it. Fury has never known compassion or love. He's spent his life in a cell, chained and abused by humans. The one woman he allowed himself to trust betrayed him. He vows to end her life but when she's finally in his grasp, harming her is the last thing he wants to do to the sexy little human.

The story line was okay but somewhat unbelievable. It would have been better if we would have known how the "new species" adapted after release. There are so many gaps in the story it leaves you frustrated. I rolled my eyes several times. Author has potential but needs to learn how to build suspense and tension. The narrator was fabulous! She made the story better! The best part was the women species. They had character and real potential! It was weird how they had nothing to do with main character and then loved her suddenly.

He was tall, at least six feet, with dirty blond hair that hung over his eyes. His T-shirt read Nietzsche Is My Homeboy. So, that was Matt. Who Julie Seagles likes. A lot. But there is also Finn. Who she flat out loves. Complicated? Awkward? Completely. But really, how was this freshly-minted Boston transplant and newbie college freshman supposed to know that she would end up living with the family of an old friend of her mother’s? This was all supposed to be temporary.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would take the word "therefore" from Kristen Ashley's vocabulary.

What three words best describe Angela Starling’s performance?

Usually Starling's performance is good but this was not a good pairing. The biker lingo was so bad! I laughed out loud at the performance when it wasn't supposed to be funny. It was just awkward

    Any additional comments?

This is not what I expected from Ashley. I have read her other books and really liked them. I am unsure if this was the author's writing or the narrator's fault. It was so bad! The underlying story was okay but "lingo" was weird "you feelin' me?" I wasn't so "down with that." The excessive cussing was not the issue-that was believable! Her other books are so much better.

Lori Foster’s steamy romances have earned her a place on the New York Times and USA Today best-seller lists. Trace of Fever stars Trace Rivers, a private mercenary looking for vengeance after his sister’s kidnapping. Trace has targeted human trafficker Murray Coburn as the man responsible, but his plans for payback get complicated when Coburn’s beautiful daughter turns up.

What disappointed you about Trace of Fever?

I loved the hero but the heroine was so bad! I think the author wanted her to be tough but she just turned out hateful and bi-polar. One minute she's mad and hateful and then the next she's jumping the guy! I rolled my eyes way too many times.
