October “Toby” Daye is finally doing all right. She’s settling into her new role as the Countess of Goldengreen; she’s actually dating again; she’s even agreed to take on Quentin as her official squire. Life is looking up all around - and that inevitably means it’s time for things to take a turn for the worse. Someone has kidnapped the sons of Duchess Dianda Lorden, regent of the Undersea Duchy of Saltmist. To prevent a war between land and sea, Toby must not only find the missing boys, but also prove that the Queen of the Mists was not behind their abduction.

When I have to listen to a series more or twice for that matter it's impressive. McGuire is great at giving you just enough of information to send your imagination running wild. She creates characters like the sea witch actually likable, there are no flat or one-dimensional characters waiting here. Toby has grown and we were on the journey with her, she has finally gotten the point that she better find out her legacy, and learn how to use it to protect herself and those she loves. Give it a try but start at the beginning.

The Gale family can change the world with the charms they cast, and they like to keep this in the family. Alysha Gale is tired of having all her aunts try to run her life, both personally and magically. So when the letter from her Gran arrives willing her a "junk" shop in Calgary, Alysha jumps at the chance. It isn't until she gets there that she realizes her customers are fey. And no one told her there's trouble brewing in Calgary - trouble so big that even calling in the family may not save the day.

If you enjoy material concerning sexual intercourse between close relatives, by all means please purchase this audiobook. But if you are mentally stable please run. I just could not believe the author would take us on that journey. I mean this is Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Huff hasn't the imagination of a flea. She will not get another chance.

From the acclaimed author of the Morgan Kingsley, Exorcist books comes the gripping first novel in a new series about a private eye who discovers, to her surprise, that she's an immortal huntress.

I have been a fan of Greek myth ever since I found the section in the back of my 6th grade lit. book, so I had to give Nikki Glass a chance. I think the author could have done so much more with this first novel, and though I was not blown away I will still have to listen to the second before calling it quits. She has some really good material and this series could turn out to be great.

Was it slow? Yes but Rachel is at a turning point, she has had to come with the terms of her new status, give her some room. Harrison is building a new plot again she needed this filler book to get us there. I missed Al he will definitely be around in the future.

Okay, so jogging through Central Park after midnight wasn't a bright idea. But Margrit Knight never thought she'd encounter a dark new world filled with magical beings, not to mention a dying woman and a mysterious stranger with blood on his hands. Her logical, lawyer instincts told her it couldn't all be real, but she could hardly deny what she'd seen...and touched.

I enjoy this genre, but this was not an easy listen. It seems the heroine is the only one with brains. How can she know more than the "old races". It reminded me of the Gargoyle cartoon I watched as a child.
