David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Liz Carling (Casualty) star in the sitcom about a young couple, Daniel and Lucy, and their circle of friends. In the first series, Lucy sets up Daniel's party, but their mates seem too busy with kids. Then, when a top author gets writer's block, Lucy and Daniel get landed with an unwelcome guest. In the third episode, Daniel and Lucy's plans for a quiet weekend are hit by a stream of unplanned visitors and are later hit by other people's baby blues.

Everything, particularly David Tennant with his quirky way of speaking and singing.

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

What made the experience of listening to The Hunger Games the most enjoyable?

Listening gives the chance to visualize the scenes better in your head, for me the story was made more interesting by hearing it read.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I liked the idea behind the Hunger Games. It forces the reader/listener to think about what kind of sacrifices we would have to make in a dictated world. It was a surreal combination of futuristic and also archaic worlds, depending on which 'district' the novel was set in at a particular time. Given the parameters of the story, and the way it was set up, I did note a few inconsistencies but overall a very enjoyable and interesting story.

What does Carolyn McCormick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I found her to be believable in that she spoke well using different voices for the characters, she was engaging to listen to, if a little annoying in some pronunciations.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I had the time, yes I think I would. I certainly listened to it for hours at a time.

    Any additional comments?

I loved the story so much I am now working on getting the next two. Would definitely recommend.
