This book took some twists and turns. I loved that the author did his research and brought the characters to life. The story was interesting and entertaining.

We loved this series. It helped entertain me and the three kids, ages 6, 7 and 11, on our way to school and back each day. Amazing how a book tape can teach a lesson of why you shouldn't lie and keep the peace in the car.

I hope there will be more books like this added to the series.

This book was great for people that travel and ponder what our global role is. What are the things that humanitarians, Christians, military and other do for those in need, with good intentions, are harmful or helpful for those people and other cultures? Greitens does a fabulous job writing and reading the audio book. Even our 11 year old listened to this audio book with us and enjoyed it. There are some bad words and some content that was hard for us all to hear, but it was real life situations that happen. It's important for our preteens and teens to hear that life isn't all easy, and the freedom we enjoy every day is earned every day by many amazing people that step up to the plate and say "I'll do it."

Having this on audio, and having our 6th grader read the book along with the audio playing made the book come to life, and the characters come to life. The book did a great job of showing many different perspectives.

I love the history that is interspersed within this fun exciting work of fantasy fiction.

A history teacher must have written this. It was like listening to a factial biography interspersed with a boys imagination. It made for an interesting listen, along with a brush up on historical information of real figures from that time in history.
