"How I started to love philosophy"
definitely, It is so full of context, and so well narrated that made me enjoy every minute of it. Besides, it does not "fool around" (without offense to other philosophers, this is mainly because of my problem concentrating for longer periods) and gets to the main points, analyzes several opinions and most of the times leaves it up to you to make up your mind and start thinking.
The way it is organized... it is not chronollogically... i think sandell was a genius when using different situations and dilemmas to introduce the listeners to the different stands on political and moral philosophy. He does not go very deep into each one of them, but gives you just the right amount to let you on your own if you feel like it.
Excellent... clear, passionate, and very good overall...
Not exactly extreme like those emotional responses... (i am not good at expressiong my emotions) BUT it was not few times when I was left in awe because of these new ideas that i had never thought of... or that, even though I had, I could not put them into words... to know that there are (and were) people thinking about these big and important ideas made me very very happy... I felt like a little child when I learned something new and ran to my girlfriend to tell her about so we could speak a little better now (she is far better educated than me and sometimes i felt bad about not understanding what she was saying)
to mr sandell...
Please write more books like this... only getting to understand the intuition and a general idea about what philosophy does for humanity, and specially with the talent you have to transmit that knowledge, i guess only then will the lay people like me start to appreciate it.
"Perfect chronology"
It is definitely in the top 10 science books
The perfect balance between describing the scientific progress in the cancer field, the social and political movements that emerged because of this disease, and an emotional touch that keeps you very into the reading.
I cried a little bit, but was in awe about getting to know the detailed story of cancer.
"Libertarians will love it"
True, funny, honest
definitely, I love how he is so politically incorrect and does not give a f...ck about offending people by saying how he thinks and why
he is a comedian... FCKN AWESOME
I laughed basically from start to end... although there was one or two times that left me with a "knot in my throat" ( spanish way to say when you are repressing the urge to cry)
"He is the man"
definitely well spend... penn has very strong views and is not afraid of telling them out loud, he is VERY smart, very funny and this combines into a very powerful way of delivering a message
this is a short essay in my opinion, i prefer his god, no!
"Very nice final book"
sure, it was a very entertaining story, and whenever i have time i will listen to the 3 books again
i liked that katniss (or however it was spelled... remember... audiobook) killed the other lady instead of snow (sorry, i don't remember the names right now)
only the hunger game series
don't remember very well specifically from this book, i heard them one after another, so I would have to say the epilogue :) i loved the bittersweet ending
"NOT just for fat people"
It was recommended by a friend of mine when I wanted to lose some weight. I've always been a skeptic, so I thought all diets were.... essentially BS... I love science, and I look forward to read his other book when i have time.
When he said that LDL's might not be as bad as we think
it was very good, i cannot complain about anything. Good job.
I wanted, but I don't have the attention span required to do that, I have to go jogging, biking or something else.
Follow up on more of these things! Hyperlipedemias, bp, etc... please!
"Great book"
definitely yes... not only the convenience of being able to "read" while you work out, or are doing something else, but the thrill of the actors interpreting the different characters its amazing
i love how the most wise people in all the mini-stories never prefer to use violence as means of getting what they want
never, sorry
When seldon appeared for the first time and told them that the encyclopedia was just like a decoy... so the foundation could escape from the damnation of the empire.
it's isaac assimov... :) if it has his name on it... it's almost like a quality seal
"Very different"
Scalzi really takes you to the edge of your imagination with this story, mixing reality and fiction without problem at all. Personally it made me think of magic-realism... except here it's not magic but sci-fi :) loved it
Jenkins?
"The extra's plea"
want more like this and YES... i'd love to see the movie
