This is my second read for Le Guin after the Earthsea cycle, and I was definitely not disappointed. The reader, on the other hand, was a huge disappointment. The reading was all on the same tone, and absolutely empty of any emotion. To be able to not fall asleep throughout the book is a testament to Le Guin's writing ability for sure, for that reader's voice was trying to do the opposite.

I still recommend it big time. A very enjoyable book.

In this intense detective thriller instilled with philosophical, religious, and social commentary, Dostoevsky studies the psychological impact upon a desperate and impoverished student when he murders a despicable pawnbroker, transgressing moral law to ultimately "benefit humanity".

The book is a classic, so there is not much to say that wasn't already said by someone. I'll turn to the reading...

WOW. This is the best audiobook I've ever listened to. The narrator, Anthony Heald, reads like he is telling the story from his own head, like it's something that happened to him. Amazing. A very very enjoyable listen and highly recommended for all.

I'll definitely try to check other books read by this guy.

It's America in 1962. Slavery is legal once again. The few Jews who still survive hide under assumed names. In San Francisco, the I Ching is as common as the Yellow Pages. It's all because, some 20 years earlier, the United States lost a war - and is now occupied jointly by Nazi Germany and Japan.

    "Great Book, Highly Recommended"
    Overall

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. At times, the names of places, persons, and historic events were confusing, but not so much as to spoil the story. I imagine the book would be much more enjoyable for someone who knew more about World War II. I certainly knew very little about it prior to the book but still had a lot of fun listening to it.

The reader was OK. The voice acting of the different dialects, especially Japanese, at times were on the verge of being comical. Still, I've heard worse. Overall, the reading is very much listenable, and the great story-telling makes up for any negative points in the reading.
