After Wall Street collapses, investment banker Griff McPherson trades in his suits and ties for Stetsons and cowboy boots. He returns to the Wyoming ranch he co-owns with his brother, but it's not exactly a happy homecoming. So to prove to everyone, including himself, that that he belongs back in Jackson Hole, he takes a post as a wrangler on another ranch. Air force lieutenant Val Hunter has just returned to the Bar H ranch to help her ailing grandmother run the property.

Griff's description of his relationship with Val and how he felt he should approach her got real old. Probably the least favourite of any in the series I've listened to so far. Curious to find out if, how or when Red gets caught. Is the answer in The Defender?

Was it her biker boots, her belligerent blue jeans...or her mean left hook? Jason Halloran never knew what hit him. But just as his perfectly predictable life seemed to be going nowhere, sassy, street-smart Dana Roberts began driving him up a wall! Dana Roberts had been on her own since age sixteen, and she intended to keep it that way. The last thing she wanted was some sexy, rich corporate VP playing Prince Charming and making her his helpless Cinderella. But what would she do if the shoe fit?

This story is exactly what the headline says. I was in need of a book to listen to that was entertaining and relaxing. Love filled the bill. I found the narrator easy to listen to. The change between characters was easy to follow. Don't know that I will try other titles in the series. There are other series I've listened to that engaged me more.

James Patterson's scariest, sexiest stand-alone thriller since The Quickie. Ben isn't like most people. Unable to control his racing thoughts, he's a man consumed by his obsessions: movies, motorcycles, presidential trivia - and Diana Hotchkiss, a beautiful woman Ben knows he can never have. When Diana is found dead outside her apartment, Ben's infatuation drives him on a hunt to find out what happened to the love of his life.

Where does Mistress rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I have currently been trying to listen to it. Wow. I can't keep up. All these references to movies and their stars are totally distracting and boring. Maybe thats because I'm not a movie fan, I dont know. This certainly isnt your typical Patterson novel.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

    No

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He didnt, it was the plot

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Beats me

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
