Right up there.
Couldn't stop listening. Hooked all the way through.
MacLeod Andrews did a great job. Very good differentiation between characters; did as well with the female voices as with the male, and great with the doggie perspective. The performance added to the story.
I did listen to this in one day - kept stealing moments to continue. Very gripping.
I've enjoyed Robert Crais books in the past, but it had been a long time - years. After this one, I immediately downloaded three more. That's how much I enjoyed it!!
As usual, I was engrossed from the start and had a hard time not listening.
I've listened to all the Sandford books. Eric Conger is a fabulous narrator and he makes the Virgil Flowers books so much richer. He hits the humor dead on. The characters are awesome much because Conger's presentation. I've been tempted to look for other books just to listen to more Eric Conger.
As usual with Virgil Flowers books, there were many moments where I truly did LOL. With a couple of them, I replayed them because they were so funny!!
The Sandford/Conger combo is outstanding. It just doesn't get any better than these.
Can't point to one thing - it was all good - story, performance, humor, action. Love the dog.
The central fight, of course.
Luke Daniels did a great job, as usual. Very good character differentiation. Good job with the female, too. Luke Daniels' voice has such resonance; it's very complimentary with the characters in this book and brings nice power.
I wish these books were longer.
Upon finishing this one, I immediately downloaded the next three!
Narrated well - would listen to Amanda Ronconi again.
Skeptical about reading another book by Molly Harper.
Shallow character development; eye-rolling ridiculous scenes.
Amanda's performance was entertaining; good character differentiation.
This was about the most disappointing book I've listened to in several years. Perhaps it's the inevitable comparison with the Twilight books, and this, to me, was quite inferior. The character development was very shallow. The story, overall, was simple and superficial; very lacking in depth. It was entertaining enough that I finished, but only just. The narration was very pleasant, and that helped.
For me, this was the best of the books. It was a very good ending. As with the other three, Ilyana (the reader for Bella) did a great job. Such a great series; so sad to have them end.
