    What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    If the characters had been at all empathetic I may have cared. This book has gotten such good reviews, am I missing something I just could not get into it. I gave up half way through part two.


    Would you ever listen to anything by Sarah Waters again?

    Probably not.


    What didn’t you like about Juanita McMahon’s performance?

    That was the only good thing about it.

    If you like dickens you will probably like this. If you need to care about the characters and feel like at some point in history they could have been real then don't even try.

    This book wasn???t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

    I loved the first one but this one was too slow. He tried to introduce too many new characters too fast which meant they lacked depth.


    What was most disappointing about George R. R. Martin???s story?

    I had high expectation after the first one.

    I love most books and I gave this book as much time as I could. I found that this lacked excitment. Even moments that should have been exciting were just really over described. I have never reviewed a book before but I got this on my recomended list so I wanted to let others know that if you like Ken Follet, Dianna Gabledon or you read Shanteram and liked them, this book is not for you!
