The city was captured by a rebellious lord, Palicrovol, who overthrew the cruel king, Nasilee, hated by his people. Palicrovol, too, was cruel, as befitted a king. He took the true mantle of kinghood by forcing Asineth, now Queen by her father's death, to marry him, raping her to consummate the marriage.

    Hart's Hope was just not one of Card's best. The story's preface was a bit thin. Many times the description of odd things a bit graphic where other descriptions were vague. I would not listen to this one a second time.

    I love, love, loved this book. Will listen time and again. This book began my Card journey of many of his novels and is still my favorite.
