LAPD Detective Peter Decker doesn’t know quite what to make of Lilah Brecht. The beautiful, eccentric spa owner and daughter of a faded Hollywood legend, Lilah was beaten, robbed, and raped in her own home - and claims to have psychic powers that enable her to see even more devastating events looming on the horizon. With his heart and mind on his pregnant young wife, Rina Lazarus, at home, Peter finds it hard to put much credence in the victim’s outrageous claims, or to become too deeply involved....

What disappointed you about False Prophet?

I am half-way through the first download and I can't listen to more. I have NEVER stopped a book in the middle; I give authors a chance to improve. The plot is uninteresting and is full of a lot of nonsense detail. The characters are not interesting. The read is terrible. Yesterday, I pulled the plug, put the iPod in the armrest and turned on the radio.

    Save your time.

What could Faye Kellerman have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Started with something more interesting than a beating.. of a rich, simpering you-know-what.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

His alternate voices are almost funny - like someone telling a joke.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Very much disappointment. I have only read Faye before, in a pinch, but the listen is not up to Audible standards.

    Any additional comments?

May I have my credit back?
