This is up there with my favorites so far.

It's hard to say whether I liked Mist, Hermod, or Grimnir the most, so I'm going to say there was a three way tie. Unless I can choose Winston as my favorite.
I always love a story where the characters are all likable. No one is perfect, they're all quite flawed people (or Gods) but they're all fleshed out and real seeming.

There were many scenes that I loved, but there were a few that stand out. The diner scene with the Sybil (when she's wearing the Vikings cap with a missing horn) made me laugh. There was one line in particular that had me literally laugh out loud and replay it more than thrice...I don't want to spoil it as Dave Thompson read it splendidly, but it was about other people's Dwarven items...I may take that line and make it a digital signature, it's that awesome.

The relationship between Mist and Hermod is beautiful.

Dave Thompson knocked the narration out of the park. Some of the names were tricky for me to identify, or would have been with a different narrator, I think. His pronunciation was clear enough to help me keep the characters apart.

Greg Van Eekhout has written an extremely enjoyable and entertaining tale and I look forward to reading (listening?) to more from him!

I have every intention of listening again. In fact, I had read the book already when I bought the audiobook, I love the story that much. Dave Thompson narrating Tim Pratts words is a perfect match.

Darrin is a wonderful character. Certainly flawed, somewhat tragic, but someone that is easy to root for.
Arturo and The Wendigo, however, bring some wonderful humor to the story.

I've been a huge fan of Mr. Thompson's narrations through PodCastle and jumped at the opportunity to listen to a full length audiobook. I am thrilled that he has more to choose from!

As I mentioned above, I had already bought and read the print version. I laughed AND cried.

You will not be sorry buying this audiobook. Seriously.

Everything about the narration was spectacular.

I could barely wait to get back to it when I had to stop listening.

This book was so very clever. It certainly had a sense of Jane Eyre, but it diverged from that story line well. The world Tina Connolly has created is rich and realistic and I can't wait until the next installment!
