It was a pleasure to have some excellent commentary from 2 brillant writers on the subject of audible books. I have been a fan of audible books for over 15 years and have not really put that much thought into the verbal tradition of storytelling. I loved the enthusiasm expressed by all 3 creators. I think this is something any audible listener would enjoy checking out, even if they are not sci-fi fans. Thanks for this fun audible freebie. Keep up the great work.

This series is a very fun listen. Mr. Green has written a masterpiece of light-hearted sci-fi. He does take on some moral issues, but he doesn't over-burden or get too "preachy" with them. I am currently listening to this for the 2nd time and enjoying it as much as my first listen. Though many might disagree with me, this is one of my favorite sci-fi stories. I love the nearly equal time given to the different "factions"; nobility, military and rebels.

I think that most sci-fi fan listeners will enjoy this series if they approach this series without overreaching expectations and an open mind. I found the acting very respectable and it was never distracting from the story for me. Cyborgs, aliens, fights, battles, political and religious intrigue, psionics, "super heroes", A.I.'s; this book pretty much has it all.

I have to agree that the production values leave a good bit to be desired. The sound effects step over the acting in a few, short spots and the acting itself is somewhat lacking. The story is less than stellar, but it is still a very enjoyable book for sci-fi fans. I never found myself bored while listening and will definitely listen to it again in the future. I think better production value and a little bit better acting would have greatly helped this book, if those had been better I would have given it 4 stars instead of 3. This is a good book for any sci-fi junkie, just looking for a little light-hearted action and adventure.
