Takes you on a pretty interesting ride, but the end sucks... rather ride somewhere else.
Just depressing most of the way through... kept hoping it would be worth it.
Riveted, but depressed.
I enjoyed this one. Very much. I like that I knew something was up, but couldn't figure it out ahead of the plotline.
Love this guy.
Love them ALL!!!
As do my friends I've referred them to.
Better than Bond.
Good like Bourne!
For every 3 minutes discussing the terrorist danger, you had to sit through 45 minutes of PAINFULLY SLOW "does she like me?"... "her golden hair..." "her eyes"... "did he dare trust someone ever again" "but he loved her, so I should never have..." "...ever know love again?"
BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!
I kept hoping for some exciting espionage, but it is just an INCREDIBLY, painful MULTIPLE love story:
basically two couples plus one love triangle with no one clearly expressing their true feelings & hardly any actual "action" (not espionage, not between the love interests).
The actual espionage storyline was thin, brief & might have taken one (two max) chapters... including all the work of bringing in pals to help & setting up surveillance, etc.
I would prefer TWO root canals to hearing another story like this one.
The new book that I'm listening to, had two assasinations within the first 20 minutes... that's action... 3/4 way through: 3 interesting attempts on the hero's life, 9+ interesting deaths (interesting person killed &/or interesting method... usually BOTH) -- not counting hoards of soldiers in gunfights-- one kidnapping. Just TONS of action.
Good story... a bit dragged out.
Performance was ok... editing was awful...
One section would end & the next would begin with virtually NO PAUSE or alert... sometimes less that the pause typically afforded the period/end of a sentence within a paragraph.
