Meanwhile the out of sight Grik have new weapons at hand thanks to the their own Japanese alliance.

Dennis Silva's escape from the traitorous New Britain Company henchmen, and fighting to survive on a truly hostile land over a thousand miles from rescue all the while trying to keep Princess Rebecca and Sandra Tucker alive another day.

Emotion and character depth brought to life.

After the war with the Grik, the crew of the Destroyer Walker is forced to reconcile its losses and regroup its forces, rebuilding and refitting Walker is priority #1, second to finding resources to repel a future Grik offensive. In this alternate Earth, Reddy and his crew discover that other humans exist on this earth, and they have internal strife of their own, bringing war once again to the doorstep of the Allied forces on this alternate Earth.

The whole alternate Earth landscape adds to the mystery and beauty of this series, always injecting itself into the strife and battles that occur, a menacing factor that seems to be just below the surface, ready to gobble up any hapless victim or straggler that falls behind. This book accounts for both sides of this other worldly struggle, as a defeated Grik force, amasses its forces for a confrontation with the formerly peaceful Lemurians

Dennis Silva, a slapstick naval officer with charismatic charm to heighten your sense of patriotism and loyalty to ones fellow crew mates. His character immerses you into his shoes as you are living the role.

Dufris is spot on in maintaining a distinct voice for nearly all characters, even the somewhat mindless Grik are differentiated in their speeches.

Definitely eager to never stop listening, this makes my daily commute to work so enjoyable and time just whisks by as the story progresses.

The way the narrator is able to keep the personality of each character separate, so as to easily identify them, he adds traits that I myself would likely add had I been reading instead of listening to the Audio book

The dynamic at the inter-species relationships, both diplomatic and platonic. The revelations about the mind behind the global menace that is the Grik

Revenge setting sail and valiantly attacking the Grik head on.

Walker's silent stalking of Amagi in the pitch black night of the ocean.

Yes I'd listen to this again, the story is riveting as the in essence "calm before the storm" culminates to the transport of this expendable WW2 weary group of destroyers to a parallel world where mankind never evolved and dinosaurs and dangerous creatures roam the lands and seas. I'd read this again easily to see how the characters transform and adapt to the new life, where they are not the apex predator.

The USS Walker coming to the aid of the Lemurians as they repel a Grik onslaught

Walker's first encounter with the primitive life that inhabits this alternate Earth...namely rescuing the Japanese from the mouth of the grikaka and flasher fish.

I questioned my purchase of this at first, thinking a book that was made after the movie can't be good, but the author nailed it and not only did he nail it, he expanded upon it, brought deeper character depth and added a few extra characters and story lines for those extra characters which seamlessly flowed into the story arch.
This book not only inspired me to be a better man and father for my family, it changed my dynamic on thinking about life and what truly is important. Since reading it I feel my own son and I have come closer together, instead of drifting apart.
I saw the movie after reading the book and though it was good, the book definitely added more wholesome meaning to each of the characters plights with life.

Adam Mitchel, a initially very stoic character who has resigned himself to the mundane existence in his small hometown, working, paying the bills, seeing his family but only partially interacting.
It takes a huge reality check to put things in perspective and let him know that life is short and he must value every minute, love every minute and support his family in times of need and even in times when it is not needed.

Opening scene drove it home, Nathan Hayes doing anything to protect his family.

Very much so, then again I'd never pay attention to my own family if I didn't break it up into parts.

Great screenplay to book adaptation!

Another fantastic book by Daniel Suarez, his accuracy in blending real world technology and hardware with such a great story line leads you to question yourself on what if this really happened, or has it already happened....better yet is it happening now.
The Narrator; Jeff Gurner does a fantastic job yet again for this techno thriller that will leave you fully immersed in the world feeling as if you living the story.

Odin, hands down the mysterious special ops figure you come to know, and question yourself initially, friend or foe...but his patriotism and loyalty to his comrades shines through in the story.

The cabin, where they had to repel a swarm of killer bots and survive.

Again Larry Correia keeps the pace going with his 2nd installment in the Grimnoir Chronicles. The story is well thought out and planned, no lagging parts to speak of in my opinion as everything fit together perfectly. Bronson Pinchot is my defacto choice as the number one narrator in the Audible book experience, his portrayal of character personalities is top notch and adds so much realism to the whole story line.

Fay has to be the best character, her spunky personality and resilience are force to be reckoned with and to not be taken lightly.

Only my second experience listening to Bronson Pinchot, but it certainly won't be my last. He is the best so far.
