"Pretty good unless one thinks about it much."
Yes.
Not really. A lot of very traumatic events are solved by kinds words and sex. I found the relationship which solves the main characters problems to be almost abusive. A cop having sex with a victim [esp with the age difference] was kinda creepy and about the last thing needed by the rape victim/prostitute.
I can tell what wasn't my favorite. The cop seduces the teen victim by pretending to be a weird customer for his services in a dark motel room. There is just so much wrong with that.
"Likeable but very flawed."
A tiresome and unnecessary amount of sex and dirty talk. When I thought one sex scene was finally over, the next chapter had another. The main conflict between the main characters did not make any sense to me. They broke up suddenly and I really have no ideas why. And, the homophobic antagonists who are are the source of almost all the conflict are conveniently swept away with almost no explanation except a suggestion one character's father (who also appears suddenly) did something. A weak story.
"Silly & Amusing, a screwball comedy"
Good. I needed to giggle like a little boy and this book was just the ticket.
John Keats, a compulsive rhymer and nitwit romantic, was a great sidekick and added some surreal dialogue.
He made the book for me. I'm not sure if I'd have found it so funny without his deadpan and hilarious performance.
The beginning was confusing but once I got passed the first chapter.
I really liked this book. It is an enjoyable screwball comedy.
"Hilarious and Sweet!"
Yes. The two main characters are funny and resourceful. I enjoyed them and fell in love with them.
The 11 year old girl, Tip and the alien, J-Lo are great for very different reasons.
Yes! and Yes again.
Listen to it.
"Easily the best and complex couple on Audible."
The story is adequate but the dynamics of the two as depicted through this book & the three follow-ups is amazing. Two men with hang-ups and complicated personalities but who, despite their own intentions, are sexy as hell to each other and to the reader.
"Hurrah! Audible brings the 2nd book online."
I haven't finished this book yet but I'm so excited to get more of this story. Book 1 was amazing and this book has the same narrator so I'm expecting a lot. I hope Book 3 comes online soon.
"I'd rather be with you than be an angel...."
Two characters who know each other at all so the angel's decision seems real.
Authors improve.
Laughter. An angel meets a man. Both decide to live together forever after a few sexual experiences and God arrives to bless the union. The angel gives up eternity. The man seems to give this no thought whatsoever.
