Great Book. It was so well crafted; despite it's length relative to it's topic, it held my interest thruout the 'book'. My first listen & my favorite.
I had my doubts in section 1, but it turned out to be a very entertaining listen. I continue to have the opinion that only romance writers should attempt to write love/rape/sex passages.
I'd wager that one could rope & drag this narrator thru rock & cactii, tar & feather him, then make him listen to yodeling LPs and he'd never break from his monotone.
Relatively more verbose filler than Lion's Game and the abrupt, convenient, disappointing ending hacked me off. BUT the bottom line is I enjoyed the listen.
The unabridged is very verbose, but if you're on a long drive, it's perfect. I thought it was a hoot, very enjoyable. My wife is hooked on it too.
This was recommended to my wife by a rocket scientist. I'm assuming the science is accurate. I thought the plot twists were good. The heroine survived so many fantastic death traps it got a little silly but then it's an action novel not a biography. It's a very enjoyable quick read.
It made some good points and was worth a listen ... but it got excessive in length & rant.
I found it to be excessively padded with 'psychobabble'. It was a 'rah rah' book with little real world utility.
