As soon as I finished listening I began the book again. This is an excellent read, very complex, with many literary references, but it's OK if one doesn't get them all. Great snapshots of early adulthood angst as well as middle age parenthood, done with some humor. The narrator is excellent.

I don't know if I will make it through this! Jennifer Egan is a great writer, but the narrator's delivery is ruining this listen. Every word is drenched in dramatic urgency. Nauseating.

This is one of the best books I have ever read (or listened to)! The character development is exceptional, and the interconnections between characters as the story shifts in time, is brilliant. The narrator is very gifted, making each character distinct. It is a complicated story and I had to listen carefully so as not to miss any of the subtle threads that connected the various scenes. Very, very well done. I understand why she won the Pulitzer for this one!

This is probably the best narration I have heard. These ladies are each superb, making this wonderful novel even that much more enjoyable. I feel as if I have lost some friends now that I have finished it.
