First published in 1816 and generally considered Jane Austen's finest work, Emma is a humorous portrayal of a heroine whose injudicious interferences in the life of a young parlour-boarder in a neighboring village often lead to substantial mortification. Austen brings to life a myriad of engaging characters as she presents a mixture of social classes as she did in Pride and Prejudice.

What a listen! This audiobook sparkles with life. The voices and accents are well done and i felt that it really does justice to Jane Austen.

With each and every new novel, Dean Koontz raises the stakes, and the pulse rate, higher than any other author. Now, in what may be his most suspenseful and heartfelt novel ever, he brings us the story of an ordinary man whose extraordinary commitment to his wife will take him on a harrowing journey of adventure, sacrifice, and redemption to the mystery of love itself, and to a showdown with the darkness that would destroy it forever.

Oh please give us something exciting! It took me 3 weeks to finally finish listening to this book because I was forever falling asleep when I tried listening to it. The ONLY reason I made myself listen to the whole thing was so that I could give it a (bad) review!

  • Eragon: The Inheritance Cycle, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (16 hrs and 21 mins)

When Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy; perhaps it will buy his family meat for the winter. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself.

    Sandra says: "Utterly Awesome!"
    "Simple"
    Overall

The narration is ok but the book is painfully simple and naive. There's nothing new or exciting about it. The plot is linear and impossibly predictable. It is a simple book for 10-year-olds at best. It is as simple as the title Eragon which is supposed to be reminiscent of the word Drangon... Very subtle huh?!
