Penniless and 34th in line to the throne, Lady Georgiana Rannoch finds herself in a truly draining state of affairs. To escape her hateful brother, Georgie accepts an invitation from the Queen to represent the royals at a wedding in Transylvania. But at the macabre- looking castle, Georgie finds the bride with blood running down her chin, and a wedding guest is poisoned.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Darcy O'Mara in all of "Her Royal Spyness" mysteries.

Have you listened to any of Katherine Kellgren’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Katherine Kellgren does a superb job of narrating! One is always able to tell the difference between two characters who are having a conversation when Kellgren narrates. She is able to consistently give different accents and intonations to all the characters throughout the entire book. You are never left guessing as to who just said what to whom.

A Crime Club selection, this intrguing tale has been reviewed as "...the very best whodunnit in many a day...Not to be missed." It starts with plans to bury deceased Great-uncle Frederick in the family vault on Beacon Hill. When the vault is opened, there's someone already there that no one could ever expect-the skeleton of a burlesque queen who disappeared thirty years ago! It's up to young Sarah Kelling to hold the shocked family together, and try to find out what happened.

Which character – as performed by Andi Arndt – was your favorite?

Sarah Kelling's character was my favorite. The narrator did a good job, however sometimes I was unsure as to which character was speaking in a dialogue of two or more characters because her voice didn't change as much as it should have to distinguish between characters.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

"Great Story and Stupendously, Wonderful Narrators!"
    Overall

This book gives you a glimpse into the hard, cold truth of being African American in the south in the 1960's and the consequences of stepping even one toe out-of-line. The narration of the different characters is wonderfully done by each woman and really brings the story to life. You can just picture Minny telling Ms. Hilly about the pie. I highly recommend this book!

But it is there that Dantès learns of a vast hidden treasure.

Sanford Rosenberg says: "What a pleasure to read a classic!"
    "Great story and great narration!"
    Overall

This is one of my favorite books of all time! To listen to this story being read was even more enjoyable than reading it myself. The narrator did an excellent job of bringing Edmond Dantes to life and of reading with variations of accents. Excellent narration and highly recommended!

Leroy says: "Best Book for a Kid"
    "Great Author but bad narrator"
    Overall

I read previous reviews before purchasing this title about the "difficult to listen to" narration, but thought "How bad can it be?" Well, it was really bad. Pauses don't seem to be in the right place and the narrator will rush through a sentence that doesn't seem to warrant rushing. At least once I heard the loud sound of what can only be described as paper being crumpled into a ball, but surely it could only have been pages turning. I think the version read by Barbara Caruso would be a much better choice as she is a professional narrator, but I only have her version of reading "Little Women" by which to judge her ability. Alas, Audible does not have that version at this time. Save your credits for a more worthy narration.
