If you could sum up American Gods: The Tenth Anniversary Edition (A Full Cast Production) in three words, what would they be?

A well played, thoroughly enjoyable experience. High production values, deep and engaging characters and pleasantly surprising plot twists.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    My favorite character is,

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think good narrators and actors, bring a sound and energy to the book, that you can miss sometimes when reading alone. They help to make the experience magical and transporting.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

While I was excited by the story and wanted to continue to progress thought it, I did not want to listen to the whole thing in one sitting. I was happy to extend my listening time though, and was a little sad as I finished it. Having to say goodbye to really good characters can make me feel a little wistful.

Six months have passed since the reappearance of the starship Phoenix - the same ship which brought humans to the world of alien atevi nearly 200 years ago, leaving a small and vulnerable colony to struggle for survival in a hostile environment. During these six months, the alien atevi have striven to reconfigure their fledgling space program in a breakneck bid to take their place in the heavens alongside humans. But the return of the Phoenix has added a third party to an already volatile situation....

I first read the first four books in Foreigner series, as they came out in the 90's. I stopped after completing Precursor, through no fault of the writer or books.
On a recent business trip, I was scanning for books and rediscovered the series.
Daniel Thomas May does a wonderful job reading and brings depth and life to C.J. Cherryh's compelling characters and intricate plot. I have enjoyed listening to the series, actually my wife and I listen to a chapter a night.
C.J.Cherryh is a master. She packs more information and nuance into a sentence than many writers achieve in a chapter.
    I highly recommend this book.
