The heroine in this book was way to whiny at times and so ignorant. The hero was not what I would call romantic. But I went along with this book. The narrator was ok. I did not particularly like ther narration of the hero.. She made him sound so slow and his conversations wer choppy. I was read the book and took me about 3 days to get through it. This was not the worst book I have listened to but far from the best... So I gave it 3 stars.
Horse and Marie have a rocky relationship. Marie is split between the love for a brother and the love for a man.
The story starts off with Horse pulling out moves to woe Marie, but when she throws the offer for his cut at his face, he acts all caveman and whisks her away to his world. He does this to save her from the wrath his brother has incurred from the club. There is not denying Horse anything and Marie gives in. Falling deeply in love with Horse.
The best part was Marie going off the deep end ready to kill anyone who tries to finish off an already wounded Horse.
Great book! lots of hotness, wild nights and engaging characters!
Wow! Mitch...I don't even know where to start. A cop who has had a thing for his closed up neighbor Mara and when he finally gets an in, boy does he bust that door WIDE open!
In Mara world, everything has it place and Mitch is definitely out her zone... for 4 years every time she sees him, she runs far away. When Mitch finally pushes for answers she does the one thing she can to stop him from asking questions. She kisses him. HOT! that's all I can say about that kiss. After that there is no way Mitch is not fighting for this woman. He takes her as she is and all her baggage. Mara has some pretty heavy stuff in her past but he take it in stride, laying out how things are going to be. He guides her out to Mara world and into the real world!
I loved listening to past characters, Elvira is always a treat. Hawk and all his macho self has Mara acting a full. And of course Tack..oh, Tack..
I am sad that Tack's HEA is the end of the dream series but I definitely will have no problem going back time after time!
Another deep feel good fight for love!
I wasn't sure what to expect from Jimmy's story... I mean from the time he messed with Eve in book 1, I was primed to hate him...
That was before we met Lena. She is everything good to Jimmy's everything bad. I think this was a fitting for Jimmy. He had to deal with his demons before we could believe he was worth the fight! He messed up a few times, he threw fits a few times and he was funny as hell trying to push Lena to date but doing everything to destroy said dates! He refused to let her go. He fought his feelings at every turn. Finally Lena was fed up and heartbroken and walked away. Jimmy did what he always does... only this time he stopped and turned around to get what was his and what he wanted.
This was a healing book, not only for Jimmy but Jimmy and his brother. Jimmy and Eve. Jimmy and the rest of the band. Most of all we learnt there was more to Jimmy then what we expected!
Can't wait for Ben's story. I have a feeling it's all about forbidden love! Yum!~
hmmmm...Where to start....I guess if you haven't already guessed it, based on other reviews let me spell this out THIS BOOK WILL LEAVE YOU HANGING! Now, normally this wouldn't be a big deal, except Book 2 is not due to be released until later this year (yep, i checked the author's website!)
The first thing I loved about this book is it's a 2-sided story. As the listener, we get to see things from Ana's view and X's view. The Author did a fantastic job with transitioning from Ana to X.
Ana is a sweet, innocent & sheltered 21 yr old who has had enough of the confines of the world she knows. She runs away for a "fresh start".. While this is what we come to know about her, I have a feeling there is still more and maybe Ana might be just as damaged as X in a different sort of way!
X is an entertainment wrester, with a body, attitude and manor to match. X is also very broken...We get a taste of just how broken in this book, almost as though this is the least of X's demons and more is yet to come!
When fate puts Ana and X together, the journey that they take in a few weeks left me craving more. There are funny moments, there are heart pumping moments and sad moments. This is a hot, sexy, funny, sweet & sour moment type book. The author pulls you in from the start to finish and of course at the end you want to know what now?
I have never listened to a book narrated by Alexandria but She was amazing. She maintained a clear tone of voice, distinct voices for each character and good voice fluctuation. She nailed her conversational lines. She did not sound like she had a cold or breathing as she narrated. She is one I will have no hesitation listening to in other books.
I have loved Sean Crisden's narration from prior books and knew he would be great as always. He has a smooth voice, though not the best female voice but close enough. His narration always takes me where i need to go without fail.
This is not an MMA book, think more like WWE....
The bottom line: If you want the roller coaster relationship, the amazing chemistry and a book that will reel you in from start to finish, then THIS IS IT! Ana sweets will have un in aww.... and X is definitely gonna give it to ya!
My definition of a rocky relationship just got altered! When a 30+ yr old man is making out with a 16 yr old girl in reality there would be an uproar to castrate him!!! When a 5 yr old decides she is in love with a 20+yr old man, what are we supposed to say? Throw in a VERY psychotic adopted brother- who mind you has an outstanding hit on you in the event he dies because he " can't sleep without you" and a dad named preacher, a best friend who is a slut and her husband who is a classic rich spoilt brat and 2 motorcycle clubs and this is UNDENIABLY on the list of the most messed up book!
As revolting, heartbreaking and shocking as this book was' it was pure entertainment. When you think you know what coming, you don't! When you think you really should stop, you can't! At the end of this book you are left thinking did i just listen to the entire book? And if you are like me... you are ready for book 2 and book 3!
Tatiana's narration is GOOOOOD! I have many books narrated by her but she is one of those narrators that you either like or flat out don't. She keeps the same pace from start to finish. She talk as though she were the characters themselves. I love her!
This is my first MS book and she has made it to my 'go-to' authors. I look forward to other book after this series! I would love to get in her mind, just to know how she so easily she puts her vision on paper and makes bad things so entertaining to listen to!
I have never been able to stick through an entire K.A. book. Unfortunately, Rock chicks just didn't get under my skin...Then I stumbled on this, I debated for a really long time. Finally, I caved and oh boy how awesome a ride it was. I really want to jump right to Tack's story.... but I have Brock then Lawson's story to got through first! Gwen was without a doubt a very easy to like character. She was a regular, free, beautiful and very feminine woman. And when she loved, she loved hard. Hawk was an onion-very MANY layers! He started off as an arrogant arse but peel layer after layer after layer and boy did he do a number on my heart! I still don't know how KA managed to make his over protectiveness into a sexy trait but it was hot, sexy and all other words you can possibly think of.The secondary characters were great as well, even Gwen's messed up sister!
Kate Russell has been on my radar of possible narrators. It is partly because of her that I kept try different KA books. I wanted a full listen of her narration and she did not disappoint.
I have books that I go back to time and again and this is definitely one that I would love to revisit.
I couldn't figure out why this book is listed as Book 1. There are too many gaps to fully appreciate the book in its entirety. The story itself was average. It was a bit childish; then again maybe that was the aim. After all it was set around the life of a college student. I like the narration but I have to listen to other books narrated by Phoebe before I can definitely say she is great. I am hesitant to cross out JM books all together; maybe when I can't find a good read I might revisit her. Her style does not match my tastes, so for now I shall put her in my maybe list of authors.
Part III: Finally, there is an ending in sight! Lanie and Hudson have aired out MOST of there crazies but there is still a few things to iron out...Hudson has a secret that could end things. Lanie goes all bonkers. Add in a few hot guys, a few hot chicks and the jealousy is insane. 'H' finally realize he can love, Lanie realizes she can't forgive anything. In the end we get to hear the epilogue in Hudson's own voice and sigh at how lovely the possibility of HEA is!
Part II... and so we pick up with the new and hot relationship between Lanie, a bit on the crazy in love type and Hudson aka 'H' the drool-worthy but internally conflicted type. Boy, my first reaction on certain part of this book were along the lines of: "Did she just say the L-word just day after meeting H?" or "What??!! Jack and Celia! really?" Once again this was worth my credit. I love listening to romance moving to the natural stage of commitment, connection and discovery! Same narrator from Part I so things were consistent, which is a bonus!
I can relate to Lanie a little bit. That moment of obsessing and stalking when there is a nagging feeling that something is wrong...which leads to bad decisions.... but Lanie was on another level and it worked for her. Now Hudson was all sorts of confused, how anyone can make a game out of pain and heartache is beyond me. Who knew 2 crazies can add up to sanity? Despite the 50 shades jabs, i think this was an enjoyable read worth my credit....and 1 more narrator added to my list when I go trolling for books!
