For someone who mostly reads the "heavy" stuff, this was an extremely nice break. Lots of fun and nicely nararated.

What a great story! What a fantastic narrator! Well worth the credit. I cannot do the book justice by reviewing it, but just know the read is extremely satisfying on many levels, and at the end of it all I had the experience of not "knowing" where I was--it had transported me to a time and place so thoroughly. And the characters were so real that I could easily envision them all.

I love this series and all the characters are absolutely excellent. I definitely recommend this book, it might be one of the best in the series. On a personal note I was not completely satisfied with the romance playing out this book. The Sheriff's previous romance, albeit with a serial killer, was much more tasteful. It just didn't seem right that his daughter was in the hospital and that at the same time he was having a sexual affair with a woman who is about the same age as his daughter. Although I grimaced alot at times, I still loved the book! Excellent narrator!

I wasn't "crazy" about this book as other reviewers are. It was just ok. I'm glad I read it bc it had been on my 'to read' list forever. But now that I have, I don't think I'll go on to read any other books of the series. Perhaps one day, but not any time soon.

I absolutley love this series! The narrator is excellent. I wonder had I come accross these stories in book form would I have enjoyed them as much as I do the audio versions--the narrator is THAT good! Even though this book is my least favorite of the series thus far, it still renders 4 stars. Do not 'skip it' as I have read other reviewers say. My only complaint, is that the stories seem successively shorter. I am trying to space the books as well as I can but they seem to end too quickly for my taste.

First off, I am a 30 something adult. And although I do read YA fiction at times and have enjoyed it, I must admit this book didn't really grab me. I do like the strong heroine of this series though. I am usually forgiving of narrators to a fault but this is one of the few times I just could not. Her voice sounded too mechanical.

Yes, the 1st 7 hours are a little slow. It is mostly character and place description which is pretty to listen to but not really engrossing. But once that is over the plot really takes hold, and I have to admit that I was held totally captive. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction, interesting characters, adventure, and of course, romance.
