  • Working for You Isn't Working for Me: The Ultimate Guide to Managing Your Boss

In their best-seller Working with You Is Killing Me, Katherine Crowley and Kathi Elster taught readers how to free themselves from emotional traps created by difficult colleagues. Now they apply their research and insights to the challenges of "toxic bosses." Sooner or later, we all work for someone we can't stand. When that happens, some people quit, some suffer in silence, and others cope by sulking, obsessing, avoiding, or retaliating.

Thank you to the authors of this book. I wish I had found something like this 20 years ago. A friend recently said to me that people don't quit companies they quit their bosses.

I was experiencing physical anxiety from my current work environment when I found this book. By chapter 4 my stress had dissipated and by the end of the book I felt completely re-empowered. I was doing all the wrong things to overcome my bad relationship with my boss and the information in this book completely reset my perspective and gave me the tools I need to continue doing my job well. I Highly recommend this book if anything in the preview rings true for you or you're feeling demoralized and de-valued at work.

Why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their successes over and over? People like Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, and the Wright Brothers might have little in common, but they all started with why.

I wish I had read this 2 years ago when My partner and I started our business. I learned so many fantastic insights and am already planning to listen again. Thank you Simon Sinek for writing this and the narration was excellent too.

Admit it. You want to BE William Shatner. This collection of rules, illustrated with stories from Bill’s illustrious life and career, will show you how Bill became WILLIAM SHATNER, larger than life and bigger than any role he ever played. Shatner Rules is your guide to becoming William Shatner. Or, more accurately, beautifully Shatneresque.

Seconds before the Earth is demolished to make way for a galactic freeway, Arthur Dent is plucked off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher for the revised edition of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy who, for the last 15 years, has been posing as an out-of-work actor.

The performance by the narrator was the best. Listening to the book was even better than reading it and it's an excellent book. I was disappointed when it ended. I can't wait to listen to Restaurant at the end of the universe.

James A. Garfield may have been the most extraordinary man ever elected president. Born into abject poverty, he rose to become a wunderkind scholar, a Civil War hero, and a renowned and admired reformist congressman. Nominated for president against his will, he engaged in a fierce battle with the corrupt political establishment. But four months after his inauguration, a deranged office seeker tracked Garfield down and shot him in the back. But the shot didn’t kill Garfield. The drama of what happened subsequently is a powerful story of a nation in turmoil.

Where does Destiny of the Republic rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Amongst my favorites.

What does Paul Michael bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Verifies my notion that the best audio books are those read by professional voice actors. The readers voice was clear and the pace was perfect. At first his female impersonations were a little distracting but I got use to his transitions. Overall I really enjoyed listening to this book

    Any additional comments?

Destiny of the Republic was as entertaining as it was educational.
