"Didn't pick up steam until the end..."
The Jedi/Sith alliance tested against Abeloth battle was the highlight. There was a very long build to get to the most interesting part of the story.
I thought there would have been more interaction/confrontation with Luke, Ben and the Sith.
Marc Thompson's Luke voice is pretty good, but his Ben Skywalker voice was kind of irritating. While reading another one of these stories I wouldn't have imagined Luke's son to sound annoying, kind of bratty.
Not really. There are so many good Star Wars stories out there. This one didn't strike me as one of the best.
I picked up this one after I finished Darth Plagueis. It was a tough act to follow. Everything about the Plagueis audio book was intense and vivid. An amazing story. This one seemed campy in comparison. It got me through the last leg of my road trip and last hour or 2 were pretty cool.
"Perfect for my cross country road trip!!"
Vivid, Original, Epic
Darth Plagueis was most interesting to me. He was this mysterious figure mentioned in Revenge of the Sith. James Luceno took a few lines of dialog from the movie and created an powerful, mad genius, who delved headlong into a quest for immortality and who hand picked and trained Palpatine to control the galaxy.
The pace of his read was great and his Palpatine voice was pretty spot on.
The Rise of Darth Sidious
Their were so many amazing scenes that my mind was seeing during this story. Done right, this would make an amazing movie.
