Jack Ryan, historian, ex-Marine, and CIA analyst, is vacationing in London when the Ulster Liberation Army makes a terrorist attack on the Prince and Princess of Wales. By instinctively diving forward to break up the attack, he gains both the gratitude of a nation and the hatred of its most dangerous men. Jack Ryan must summon all of the skills and knowledge at his command to battle back against his nemesis.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Anybody who is an action adventure or Tom Clancy fan should enjoy this book, which is non-stop action in a realistic context.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jack Ryan is a main character in a series of Clancy books. The character is real, human, and personable, with a family and children. He is an unlikely hero who always finds himself in situations where he comes to the rescue.

Which character – as performed by Martin Sheen – was your favorite?

I have always enjoyed Martin Sheen's voice. In this case, he performs all the characters well, but I particularly enjoy his characterization of the main character, Jack Ryan.

Thoreau's classic account of the solitary life, describing his attempts to simplify his life and sort out his priorities by living alone in a cabin beside Walden Pond for nearly two years, is one of the most influential books ever written. The bible of the environmental movement, Walden vividly portrays Thoreau's reverence for nature, and his understanding of the idea that nature is made up of crucially interrelated parts.
